Portland Trail Blazers vs. Boston Celtics Prediction, NBA Odds
Boston is coming off a 110-103 win over Denver on Sunday, but they still have ground to make up in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics are second in the East, while Cleveland holds a massive eight-game lead for top spot. Portland, on the other hand, is just trying to get into the play-in conversation. The Trail Blazers won 119-102 in Philadelphia on Monday, but still sit four games behind Chicago for the final play-in spot.
Boston is a 9.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with the total set at 224.5.
Trail Blazers vs. Celtics NBA Betting Odds
It’s been all Celtics in head-to-head action over the last couple of seasons as they’ve won four straight in head-to-head action. Boston covered as a heavy favourite in three of those four games, while the fourth ended in a push with the spread at -17.
It’s been Portland, however, that has been the better cover option this season. The Trails Blazers are a solid 36-25-1 against the spread, while the Celtics are 26-34-1 ATS.
Both teams have been hot lately. Boston has won 11 of their last 14 games and Portland has won five of six, with the one loss coming in overtime against the Cavaliers.
If history is any indication, points could be on the board on Wednesday. The Over has hit in eight of the last 10 games between the teams, including four of the last five played in Boston.
Portland Trail Blazers
A strong second half made the difference for the Trail Blazers on Monday, with Portland outscoring the 76ers by 22 points after the break. Anfernee Simons led the way with a game-high 34 points, including 21 in the second half. Shaedon Sharpe added 20 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Keep an eye on Deni Avdija against Boston. Avdija is averaging 6.4 rebounds per game this season, including double-digit boards in two of his last four games.
Boston Celtics
One game after blowing a 22-point lead over Cleveland, the Celtics almost gave up a 20-point lead against Denver, but hung on to win on Sunday. Jaylen Brown led the way with 22 points in a game Boston likely should have lost. Derrick White added 17 points and Jayson Tatum had 16. With Brown and Tatum questionable to play on Wednesday, I’ve got White circled for a big night. White is averaging 18.4 ppg over his last five outings and he should see increased minutes against Portland.
