The Toronto Raptors will be trying to record consecutive wins for the first time this season when they host the surging Minnesota Timberwolves in Thursday’s NBA betting action at Scotiabank Arena. The Raptors are coming off just their third win of the season with Monday’s 130-119 victory over Indiana, which put the brakes on a seven-game losing streak. The Timberwolves open a brief two-game road trip riding a two-game win streak after topping Phoenix 120-117 on Sunday but are winless in three visits to Toronto since February 2021.

The Timberwolves travel north of the border perched as 7.5-point road favourites on the Thursday NBA odds. The Raptors lag as +240 underdogs on the NBA moneyline and the total is listed at 225.5.

Timberwolves vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

The Timberwolves have struggled in recent visits to Toronto, averaging just 101 points per game during their current 0-3 run at Scotiabank Arena. However, they have dominated the Raptors in two recent dates in Minnesota, claiming consecutive wins by double-digit margins, including a 112-101 win on October 26. That marks the first time that Minnesota has recorded back-to-back wins against the Raptors since January 2018. However, Toronto has continued to reward loyal sports bettors when facing the T-Wolves, covering in nine of 12 overall clashes while going 1-1 against the spread as betting underdogs. Despite wallowing near the bottom of the NBA standings with a 3-12 record, the Raptors have enjoyed some success on the NBA odds, going 10-5 ATS and 5-2 ATS in seven home dates, all as underdogs.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves have regained their scoring touch in the last two contests, averaging 125 points per game after mustering just 100 points per game in a preceding 0-3 three-game losing streak. That featured a pair of outright losses in Portland as betting chalk, leaving them with a 3-4 road record, both straight up and against the spread. Julius Randle is coming off his best performance of the season in Sunday’s win over the Suns, recording a season-high 35 points including a buzzer-beating three-pointer that sealed the win. While the current win streak is welcome, the two recent victories have come by a margin of just five points. Minnesota has also surrendered at least 119 points in three of four road contests.

Toronto Raptors

After pushing the defending champion Boston Celtics with a gutsy performance in last Saturday’s 126-123 overtime loss at TD Garden, the Raptors followed up with their best performance so far this season in Monday’s 130-119 victory over Indiana. The Raptors’ strong results are even more impressive considering they have come with Scottie Barnes sidelined with an eye injury that has kept him on the shelf for 11 games. Big man Jakob Poeltl has stepped up in Barnes’ absence. Poeltl has recorded at least 30 points in each of the past two games and has averaged 15 rebounds while tallying three straight double-doubles. RJ Barrett has also been heating up. The Toronto native established a new season-high with 39 points versus the Pacers after dropping just 17.7 points in his preceding seven outings.
