Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Game 4 Prediction, NBA Odds

After dropping the first two games of this series in Oklahoma City, the Timberwolves needed a response in Game 3 and boy did they deliver. Minnesota crushed the Thunder 143-101 in a game that could turn the tide of this series. Can the T-Wolves build off that momentum in Game 4, or will OKC get back to their winning ways?

The Thunder are 2.5-point favourites to win on the NBA odds, with the total pegged at 218.5.

Thunder vs. Timberwolves NBA Betting Odds

When you’re looking at the spread, it’s worth remembering that none of the games in this series have been particularly close. Game 1 was decided by 26 points, Game 2 by 15 and of course Game 3’s massive 42-point margin of victory.

High scoring affairs are nothing new for these teams as they have each hit the Over in four of their last five games.

Game 3 was a positive step forward for Minnesota, but it hasn’t swayed oddsmakers as the Thunder are still heavy -900 favourites to win the series on the NBA futures board, while the Wolves are +600 underdogs. The favoured exact series result is now an OKC win in five games at +110. The biggest long shot is a Minnesota win in six games at +1600.

Longer term odds have also largely remained unaffected after the Game 3 blowout. The Thunder remain favoured to win the NBA championship at -275, while the Timberwolves are +1100 long shots.

Oklahoma City Thunder

League MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander clearly had an off-night in Game 3, finishing with 14 points on 4-for-14 shooting with four turnovers. The performance was in stark contrast to SGA’s dominance in the first two games of this series, particularly in Game 2 when he had 38 points, eight assists and three steals. While Oklahoma City will clearly need more from the Canadian superstar, you can likely write off Game 3 as an outlier as SGA is still averaging 28.7 points and 6.7 assists per game in the playoffs.

Jalen Williams will be another key player in this series. Williams, who had 13 points in Game 3, had a double-double with 26 points 10 rebounds and five assists in Game 2. Throughout the playoffs he is averaging 19.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.

Minnesota Timberwolves

If Minnesota was ever going to have a shot to win this series, you knew it would come down to Anthony Edwards and he proved that in Game 3, posting 30 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Edwards is averaging close to a double-double in the playoffs, putting up 26.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game while continuously drawing the toughest matchups.

Julius Randle also came in clutch for the Wolves in Game 3, finishing with 24 points, four rebounds and three assists. The power forward is averaging 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game in the playoffs.
