Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs Game 4 Prediction, NBA Odds

Oklahoma City overcame the raucous home crowd and a historically bad start to defeat the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, 123-108.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 26 points and 12 assists while Jared McCain had 24 points to lead an explosive performance from the bench as OKC took back home court advantage with the win Friday night. The Thunder trailed, 15-0 early, but responded definitively. Chet Holmgren had 14 points, followed by Jaylin Williams with 18, Alex Caruso with 15, and Cason Wallace with 11. Oklahoma City’s bench outscored the Spurs’ 76-23.

Victor Wembanyama had 26 points to lead San Antonio, but was held to just four rebounds. Devin Vassell had 20 points and seven boards, De’Aaron Fox had 15 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in his series debut, and Stephon Castle added 14 points, seven assists, and five rebounds.

Thunder vs. Spurs NBA Betting Odds

After being a 2.5-point dog in Game 3, the Thunder have reversed course. They are 2.5-point favourites tonight, and are +120 on the money line. San Antonio is -140. OKC is 5-2 against the spread in its last seven games, while the Spurs are 15-5 straight up in their last 20 home contests.

The Over/Under sits at 219.5 points. The teams have easily played to the over all three games in this series, averaging 234.3 total points per contest.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Jalen Williams was sidelined with lingering hamstring soreness on Friday, an issue that has plagued him throughout the season. The Thunder can obviously account for his absence, as numerous bench players have stepped up throughout the playoffs.

He is questionable this afternoon, so Jaylin Williams, Ajay Mitchell, Wallace, or McCain will all be counted on to account for his lost production, while Caruso, who’s averaging 21 points in the Western Conference Finals, is essentially a sixth starter.

San Antonio Spurs

Despite lingering injuries, Fox was able to return to the starting lineup, and Dylan Harper, the scintillating rookie who’s averaging 13.8 points in the postseason, was able to contribute six points in 17 minutes off the bench. Their presence and production will be key in today’s attempt to even up the series.

Wembanyama was nullified on the boards as his four rebounds equalled a postseason low. He needs double digits off the glass to prevent second-chance opportunities for the Thunder, while providing them for his teammates at the opposite end of the court.

Castle, who had 20 turnovers in the first two games of the series, only committed one turnover in Game 3. A 7-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio is just what San Antonio needs again tonight.

NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Thunder vs. Spurs?

The Thunder are one clutch Wembanyama 3-pointer away from being up, 3-0, in this series. The Spurs are worthy opponents indeed, and they are one of the few teams in the league that know how to win against OKC.

But SGA and his teammates have also figured out San Antonio as well. They regained their mojo with a 9-point win at home in Game 2, and they overwhelmed the Spurs after their poor start in Game 3, winning by 15.

Point being, the defending champions took an uppercut, but they are back in control. Look for Oklahoma City to move one step closer to returning to the NBA Finals with a 120-115 victory tonight.
