The Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors were once viewed as two of the top teams in the Western Conference. That’s why when taking a look at the betting line on Tuesday, something clearly looks off. While these matchups should be competitive, the Warriors are favoured by 11.5 on the NBA odds, which indicates that something is off.

The story here is that the Suns will be without Devin Booker and Chris Paul for this contest, which is going to make it hard for them to compete. Can they at least cover the spread here or will the Warriors run away with this one?

Suns vs. Warriors NBA Betting Odds

The Suns are in a funk as they’ve failed to cover in five of their last six games. For what it’s worth, they have covered six of their last eight Tuesday games, though. It’s hard to trust many of these trends when a number of their starters will be out.

As for the Warriors, they are 9-3 ATS follow a straight-up loss of 10 or more. They are also 5-2-1 in their last eight against teams with a losing record. Golden State has fared well in this series, covering the spread in four straight meetings.

Phoenix Suns

There’s not a lot to like about the Suns tonight given how many key contributors are out. Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Cam Johnson are all out. On top of that, centre Deandre Ayton and forward Torrey Craig are questionable. If that’s the case, then who are the Suns going to be trotting out there for their starting lineup? Just the losses of Booker, Ayton and Paul accounts for 57.7 points per game, so that’s going to put a huge dent in this offence.

Scoring points has been a big challenge for the Suns as they haven’t even reached the 100-point mark in four straight. The team has dropped six straight and 14 of 18. They’re a sinking ship right now and bettors should probably avoid them until they get healthy.

Golden State Warriors

While the Suns have all sorts of bad news in terms of injuries, the Warriors received some good news that they can build upon. Star guard Steph Curry has been upgraded to probably on Tuesday, which should give this lineup a huge boost. They’re just 20-20 on the year and have lost two straight – both at home to Eastern Conference laggards – but this looks like a great spot for them to get back on track. Klay Thompson also missed the team’s most recent game on Saturday but appears to be good to go.

There’s really no way anyone can back the Suns right now given their state of affairs. With the Warriors at home and the positive news of Curry’s return, they’re the better choice tonight.
