Deandre Ayton notched his first double-double of the series with a 16-point, 11-rebound night. The Suns got a poor outing from the bench in Game 3, with it contributing 17 points on a combined five for 16 shooting from the field.
Dallas Mavericks
Superstar point guard Luka Doncic needed some help, and it came by way of Jalen Brunson Friday night. The 25-year-old led all scorers in Game 3 with 28 points and made some game-sealing buckets down the stretch. That’s not to say Doncic didn’t have an outstanding night as he finished one assist shy of a triple-double with 26 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists.
The most important factor in the win was Dallas’ defence. As mentioned, they held Phoenix to under the century mark in points and kept the Suns under 50 per cent from the field as a team. The Mavericks only committed eight turnovers to Phoenix’s 17 too, and had 12 steals in the win.
