San Antonio Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction, NBA Odds

The San Antonio Spurs are back. With yet another generational inside presence, San Antonio is set to return to the playoffs after a six-year hiatus and even make a run at its first NBA title in 12 years. Victor Wembanyama, the 2024 NBA Rookie of the Year and an All-Star last season, continues to improve in just his third year. He scored 37 first-half points, the most of any player in the league this season, and finished with 40 points and 12 rebounds as the Spurs smacked around the Lakers 136-108 last night, as LA played without Luka Dončić and LeBron James.

While the Spurs are ascending, the Golden State Warriors’ dynastic run, which has seen them win four NBA titles and make six Finals appearances since 2015, appears to be at an end. The Warriors are crawling along at 29-25 and are currently without the services of 11-time All-Star and two-time MVP Steph Curry. The team is just 4-6 in its last 10 games, although they did defeat the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, 114-113, behind Pat Spencer’s 17 points and seven assists.

San Antonio is a 7.5-point favourite on the NBA odds, with the total pegged at 220.5.

Spurs vs. Warriors NBA Betting Odds

The Spurs are 5-0 straight up and against the spread in their last five games and are 6-1 ATS in their last seven at Golden State. However, San Antonio lost both games at home against the Warriors on November 12 and 14 and has dropped 10 of the last 13 meetings between the teams. However, Steph went for 46 and 49 in those two games.

Golden State is just 1-4 ATS in its last five contests. The Warriors have played to the Over in six of seven games, while the Spurs have played to the Over in four of five.  When these squads faced off in November, they combined for 245 in the first game and 217 in the second.

San Antonio Spurs

Wemby is in peak form, averaging 23.9 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks this season. Stephon Castle, last season’s Rookie of the Year, is having a superb sophomore campaign. He is averaging 17.1 points, 7 assists, and 1.4 steals, and just dropped 40 on the Mavericks in a win on Saturday. Castle suffered a pelvic contusion against the Lakers, but is expected to play tonight.

It’s hard not to see San Antonio taking care of business in this game, especially after dropping two to Golden State earlier this year. This feels like the perfect revenge spot.

Golden State Warriors

Curry is out, and Kristaps Porzingis, acquired from the Atlanta Hawks at the deadline, is out with an Achilles injury and has played just 17 games this year. With Jimmy Butler already out for the season with a knee injury, it’s basically Draymond Green and a bunch of lesser-knowns battling for coach Steve Kerr right now.

Seven players scored in double figures in the win over Memphis, but nobody will strike fear into the heart of the Spurs tonight.

NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Spurs vs. Warriors?

Curry scored a total of 95 points for Golden State in two wins over three days in mid-November against San Antonio. Butler added a combined 49 points in the two wins. Neither is available tonight. Wembanyama, who combined for 57 points and 27 rebounds in the two November losses, will play. Whether Castle suits up or not, the big Frenchman will be the difference.

Look for San Antonio to get a measure of revenge for the two earlier setbacks and stay within striking range of the top of the Western Conference with a 122-106 victory over the Warriors.
