Toronto Raptors vs. Washington Wizards Prediction, NBA Odds
The Raptors are coming off a crushing 123-89 loss to the visiting San Antonio Spurs on Sunday and have surrendered an average of 123 points over their past three outings. The Wizards have maintained control of last place overall in the NBA standings while losing their past four contests but have won two of their past four home date, ending a 12-game slide on home hardwood at Capitol One Arena.
The Wizards get the nod as slim 1.5-point home favourites on the Monday NBA odds. The Raptors trail as +100 underdogs on the NBA moneyline and the total is pegged at 228.5.
Raptors vs. Wizards NBA Betting Odds
Monday night’s matchup wraps up the four-game season series between these Eastern Conference rivals. The raptors have claimed victory in two of their three previous dates with the Wizards including a 106-82 victory in Washington on January 29 and have gone 10-3 in their past 13 head-to-head dates and covered in five of the past six. However, in addition to surrendering big point totals, the Raptors have struggled to generate consistent production during their current swoon, scoring just 89 points in two of their past three outings and a meagre 98.5 points per game over their four recent defeats.
The Raptors have also been a massive disappointment when playing their second game in as many nights, covering just once while losing six straight and losing 11 straight on the road since late March 2024. Already bounced from the NBA playoff picture, the Wizards have seen their four straight defeats come by an average margin of 15.8 points and now rank dead last in the NBA with 120.7 points allowed per game. While the Wizards have eked out outright wins in three of their past six as home chalk, they have covered just once in their past 10 and have lost outright in their past five at home while favoured by two or fewer points.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors’ current slide has left them trailing 10th-place Miami by six games in the Eastern Conference standings with just 11 games remaining on their schedule. In addition to seeing their playoff hopes evaporate, the Raptors continue to struggle through injuries. Gradey Dick remains sidelined with a knee injury while Jakob Poeltl and Immanuel Quickley remain listed as game-time decisions after sitting out Sunday’s loss to San Antonio. However, Scottie Barnes has stepped up to carry the weight, averaging 25.5 points, eight rebounds, and six assists over the past two games while RJ Barrett contributed 18 points and seven boards against the Spurs after missing three games due to illness.
Washington Wizards
After opening the campaign on a dismal 6-41 run, the Wizards have shown flashes of respectability while going 9-10 in their past games but have steadily slipped into familiar form during their current swoon. The club has found themselves facing double-digit deficits at the half in three of their four recent wins and have seen much of their scoring come in garbage time. With just eight points on 30% shooting in Saturday’s 122-103 loss to New York, Alex Sarr took a step back after averaging 22.8 points over his previous five games. However, the prized rookie was a force under the bucket in back-to-back games in Toronto earlier this month, recording a combined 25 boards while averaging 13 points per game. Jordan Poole topped 20 points for the first time in eight games while recording a team-high 25 points versus the Knicks and has dropped an average of 25.4 points per game over his past eight home appearances.
