Raptors vs. Trail Blazers NBA Betting Odds

Portland is in largely the same situation that Toronto is in that the club is rebuilding and hoping to strike it lucky in the draft lottery and win the rights to select Duke superstar Cooper Flagg atop the 2025 draft. He would speed up any rebuild. The Raptors are ahead of the Blazers in the rebuild phase simply as Toronto has a franchise player in Scottie Barnes (and maybe a second All-Star type in the injured Brandon Ingram) and Portland doesn’t have that yet.

The Blazers selected guard Scoot Henderson at No. 3 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, and he has yet to live up to expectations. Last year, they took UConn centre Donovan Clingan at No. 7 overall and he’s having a solid rookie season and should be a good player in the NBA but not a star. Former NBA All-Star guard Chauncey Billups, the 2004 Finals MVP with Detroit, has been Portland’s coach since 2021 but might not be back next season.

This marks the first meeting of the season with Portland at Scotiabank Arena on April 3 when both teams will be long eliminated from playoff contention. The Blazers won both last season. They are 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS in the past 10 meetings overall. The over-under is 5-5.

How to Bet on NBA Basketball

Toronto Raptors

We are at that time of the NBA season where teams that are lottery bound are really going to start tanking and resting guys who otherwise likely could play. A handful of Toronto guys sat out Friday’s game in Utah, but the Raptors won the third in a row and for the sixth time in their past seven, 126-118. The Dinos’ Big 3 of Immanuel Quickley (20 points, five assists), Scottie Barnes (20 points, 10 rebounds) and RJ Barrett (17 points) all played – but Quickley is out Sunday and Barrett questionable. Centre Orlando Robinson continued his recent surge with 14 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, his third straight double-double. With Jakob Poeltl among those out Friday, Colin Castleton started at centre and had 13 points on 5-for-5 shooting and seven rebounds. Toronto’s three straight road wins have tied a season-high streak set back in January. The Raptors have been swept in three of the last four season series against the Trail Blazers. Toronto is 9-2 ATS in its past 11 on the road.

Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers have been off since losing a fifth straight game Wednesday, 114-113 in OT at home to New York on a buzzer-beater. Forward Deni Avdija, having a breakout season, had 27 points, 15 rebounds and five assists to become the first Trail Blazer with back-to-back games of at least 25 points, 15 rebounds and five assists since Hall of Famer Bill Walton in November 1976. Guard Matisse Thybulle, an excellent defender, was expected to make his season debut for Portland off an ankle issue but ended up getting a DNP-CD. Good chance he debuts Sunday after practicing this weekend. Fourth-leading scorer Jerami Grant (14.4 PPG) was out with a knee injury and is doubtful Sunday. Guard Anfernee Simons (19.3 PPG) is questionable. Reserve forward Jabari Walker is in the concussion protocol. Starting centre and former No. 1 overall pick Deandre Ayton hasn’t played since Feb. 10 due to a calf injury and probably is done for the year. Portland has two Canadian guards in Shaedon Sharpe, who is a starter and one of the league’s better dunkers, and reserve Dalano Banton. The Blazers are 6-3 ATS in their past nine.
