Toronto Raptors vs. Brooklyn Nets Prediction, NBA Odds

The loss to the 76ers snapped Toronto’s four-game win streak, but the club still maintains control of ninth place in the NBA Eastern Conference standings. The Nets saw their early-season woes continue with Sunday’s crushing 134-98 loss to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden and are winless in five home dates so far this season.

The Raptors arrive in Brooklyn perched as heavy 10.5-point favourites on Tuesday’s NBA odds. The Nets trail as a lengthy +365 bet on the NBA moneyline and the total is listed at 232.5.

Raptors vs. Nets NBA Betting Odds

The Raptors swept the Nets in three meetings last season including a pair of dominating wins in Brooklyn. Each of their wins in the series swept came by double-digit margins, with the Nets averaging just 102.7 points per game over that stretch. That marks a big turnaround for the Raptors, who had earned just one win in their previous nine dates with the Nets including four straight defeats at Barclays Center. The club also claimed victory in convincing fashion in each of their four games prior to Saturday’s demoralizing loss to the Sixers, giving up just 100.5 points per game over that stretch, and have now seen the UNDER pay out in totals betting in four of five contests overall, and in three of their past four road dates.

Things continued to get worse for the Nets in Sunday’s loss to the Knicks. Brooklyn has now surrendered 125.5 points per game, second most in the league, while opening the season on a dismal 1-9 run. The club has also gone just 3-7 against the spread but have covered twice in five home dates, but have been a massive betting disappointment as double-digit underdogs on home court, losing outright in 26 straight while covering just five times in their past 17.

Toronto Raptors

Immanuel Quickley looks to have shaken off an inconsistent start to the campaign after leading the club with 22 points in Sunday’s loss to Philly. Quickley had recorded just 46 total points over his previous four outings but converted on 50% from the field for just the second time this season while hitting on five of nine three-point attempts. Quickley has also emerged as a consistent presence in the paint, averaging 5.3 rebounds over the past four games. The 26-year-old piled up 21 points and 15 boards when he last faced the nets on New Year’s Day and is worth a value wager as a +650 bet to record his first double-double of the season on Tuesday night.

Brandon Ingram lived up to his reputation as a bad boy on Saturday, spiking a water bottle on the sidelines, which struck an arena employee, earning himself a $25,000 fine. But the big man has remained productive when keeping his emotions in check, scoring at least 20 points in seven of nine outings including each of his past three road appearances.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets find themselves on the verge of freefall in the wake of their lopsided defeat on Sunday at MSG, and to make matters worse, the club will be without their second-leading scoring Cam Thomas, who is expected to miss at least three weeks with a hamstring injury. The loss of Thomas likely means a bigger assignment for Terrance Mann, who has produced mixed results so far this season. In addition to picking up no points in 18 minutes work on Saturday, Mann has scored in the double-digits in just five of 10 outings, averaging 9.8 points per game. Michael Porter Jr. remains the Nets’ top producer, picking up 28.3 points per game over his past three contests and recording a pair of double-doubles.
