Raptors vs. Magic NBA Betting Odds

Very strange scheduling for Toronto. It just finished a four-game homestand, flies all the way to Florida for this game against Orlando and then comes back home for four games. It’s the Raptors’ only visit to the Magic this season. The teams have split two meetings in Toronto, most recently on March 4 when Orlando won 103-97 in an upset.

Pascal Siakam had 34 points and 14 rebounds in that loss – he missed the first game vs. the Magic. Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby also have played in just one game. Scottie Barnes is averaging 15.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in the two. Barnes of course was chosen fourth in the 2021 NBA Draft and Orlando took Jalen Suggs fifth. It doesn’t appear the rookies will face off one last time because Suggs has missed eight straight games with an ankle injury. The Magic are in tank mode so not much point in bringing him back this season.

Toronto leads the all-time series 54-40 and is 24-21 as the road team, winning the past three. The Dinos are 9-1 SU in the past 10 overall and 8-2 against the spread – with Orlando covering the two this season.

Toronto Raptors

Be warned Raptors backers! This could shape up as a potential trap game for the team because of the unusual scheduling we mentioned above and a much bigger game back home Sunday vs. Miami. It would be very easy for Toronto to overlook Orlando after a perfect four-game homestand that included three wins over playoff teams. The Dinos rallied from an early big hole to beat Minnesota 125-102 on Wednesday. Pascal Siakam had his second career triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 13 assists. There are few in the NBA playing better than Siakam right now. Gary Trent Jr. had 29 points and OG Anunoby 22. Khem Birch returned from missing a few games injured but wasn’t a factor in five minutes off the bench.

Orlando Magic

Players don’t tank, franchises do, but it sure looks like the Magic are in shutdown mode on a four-game losing streak. They were pounded in Washington on Wednesday, 127-110. The best rookie on the team this season hasn’t been No. 5 overall pick Jalen Suggs but No. 8 pick Franz Wagner, who had 28 points and five rebounds in the loss. He has scored in double figures a team-high 64 times. Markelle Fultz had 19 points and seven assists. The Magic played without Suggs and Wendell Carter Jr. The latter has a decent chance of playing Friday and is averaging 15.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Orlando is 10-27 this season at home.
