Toronto will be in a tough position when they visit Sacramento on Friday, as the Raptors are dealing multiple injuries and playing the second half of a tough back-to-back.

It’s the second of a back-to-back for the Raptors on Friday as struggling Toronto makes its lone visit to California’s capital city to face the Sacramento Kings.

Sacramento is a 3.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 220.

Raptors vs. Kings NBA Betting Odds

Physically, the toughest back-to-backs in the NBA come the night after either playing in Denver or Utah because of the elevation of those cities, and that’s the position Toronto is in Friday after getting blown out in Salt Lake City on Thursday. Friday is the first of two meetings between the Raptors and Kings, with Sacramento in Toronto on Dec. 13.

The Kings are the worst-run organization in the NBA and it’s not particularly close. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2006 and most likely will not this season, either. There are rumours Coach Luke Walton is very close to being fired. It’s mystifying why he was able to keep his job after last season.

The teams split two high-scoring games last year with each winning on the road. The Dinos scored a franchise-record 144 points in their blowout victory in Sac-Town thanks to 20 made three-pointers. Toronto has won four in a row as the road team in the series but trails overall 27-22 and 17-7 as the away team.

The Raptors are 5-2-1 against the spread in the past eight meetings.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto played Thursday at Utah without the injured OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa, and unfortunately Anunoby will be out indefinitely with a hip issue. Anunoby was great in Monday’s loss at Portland with 29 points, six rebounds and three steals and is averaging a career-high 20.1 points. Achiuwa (shoulder) is not likely to play tonight. Not surprisingly being so short-handed, the Dinos were routed 119-103 by the Jazz and have dropped three straight and six of seven. Utah shot 55 per cent overall, while Toronto was at 41.5 per cent and 26.3 from deep. Pascal Siakam had one of the worst games of his career in shooting 2-for-14. Siakam sat out the second of a B2B last time, but there has been no word Coach Nick Nurse is planning to do it again tonight. The Raptors are 1-6 ATS in their past seven.

Sacramento Kings

The Kings lost for the fifth time in six games Wednesday, 107-97 at a bad Minnesota team. Like usual, the Kings faded late as they simply don’t have a go-to scorer. De’Aaron Fox is a fine player and had 28 points, but he’s not a No. 1 on any good team. Buddy Hield had 16 points off the bench. He’s going to be traded sooner rather than later. Guard Tyrese Haliburton, very good as a rookie last year, is in a bit of a sophomore slump and has scored in single digits in two of the past three. This writer’s guess is that Coach Luke Walton has this four-game homestand to show something or he’s fired before a Nov. 26 trip to the Lakers. Sacramento has one Canadian on the roster, veteran forward Tristan Thompson. The Kings are 6-2 ATS in their past eight as favourites.
