Toronto Raptors vs. Utah Jazz Prediction, NBA Odds
The Toronto Raptors look to snap a two-game losing streak that has once again threatened their grasp on a spot among the top six in the Eastern Conference standings when they visit the Utah Jazz on Monday in NBA betting action at Delta Center.
The Raptors continue a five-game road trip in Utah after getting outclassed in a 120-98 loss in Phoenix on Sunday to fall to 1-5 SU in their past six road contests.
Already eliminated from playoff contention, the Jazz bowed 126-116 to Philadelphia on Saturday, and have now lost 13 of their past 16 games including six of eight at home.
The Raptors arrive in Utah as lofty 12.5-point road favourites on Monday’s NBA odds, while the Jazz are pegged as a +550 underdogs on the NBA moneyline. The total for Friday’s contest is set at 231.5.
Raptors vs. Jazz NBA Betting Odds
The Raptors rolled to a 107-100 victory when they hosted the Jazz on February 1, and will now be looking to sweep their season series with Utah for a second straight year. However, the Raptors have struggled to produce consistent results at Delta Center, where they have won in just one of their past five visits.
Toronto has claimed victory by an average margin of eight points during their current 3-0 run versus the Jazz, including a 126-118 win as 1.5-point underdogs in their last visit to Utah just over a year ago.
The UNDER has paid out twice over their past three meetings, snapping a 6-0 run for the OVER, and the Jazz have gone 5-2 SU in their past seven against the Raptors when OVER bettors have cashed in.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors stumbled out of the gate and never recovered in Sunday’s date with Phoenix, while spotting the Suns a double-digit lead in the first quarter. It proved to be a dismal night for Raptors starters, who averaged just 9.4 points on the night while pulling down just 15 total rebounds.
Scottie Barnes emerged as the club’s top producer with 17 points, six assists, and five boards. However, it was a forgettable night for Brandon Ingram, who mustered just six points on 30 per cent shooting while big man Jakob Poeltl failed to score a point or record a rebound in 17 minutes of work after averaging 20.3 points and 12.3 boards over his previous three games.
The club’s middling record when playing on back-to-back nights is not helped by Sunday’s debacle. The Raptors have gone just 4-8 SU when playing on a second straight night, including a 1-5 SU mark on the road.
Utah Jazz
After stunning the Milwaukee Bucks in Thursday’s 128-96 victory, the Jazz returned to familiar form in Saturday’s loss to the 76ers. Utah has now surrendered 123.5 points per game during their current 1-5 SU run that features five losses by 10+ points, and ranks dead last in the NBA with 124.4 points per game allowed so far this season.
One bright spot for the Jazz has been the continued steady play of rookie guard Ace Bailey. Selected fifth overall by the Jazz in last year’s NBA draft, Bailey led the squad versus Philly with 25 points and seven boards, and has averaged 29 points over his past two games and 26.3 points over his past three home dates.
Bailey’s emergence has been timely, with the club missing leading scorer Lauri Markkanen, who remains sidelined indefinitely with a hip injury. However, the club has received some good news ahead of Monday’s contest. Forward Brice Sensabaugh has been cleared to return to action after missing two games due to illness. Sensabaugh piled up 41 points last time out, in Minnesota last week, and has averaged 30.8 points over his past four outings but just 17.6 points in his past four home appearances.
