It has been a solid trip through the Western Conference so far for the Toronto Raptors, and they visit the surprising Utah Jazz on Wednesday. Utah is a 3-point favourite on the NBA odds.

Raptors vs. Jazz NBA Betting Odds

Wednesday is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams with Utah in Toronto on Feb. 10. They split last year, each winning by double digits at home.

Fred VanVleet averaged 30.5 points in the season series along with 7.0 assists, while Gary Trent Jr. averaged 20.5 ppg, and Pascal Siakam only 10.5 ppg. The Jazz had such roster turnover in the offseason led by trades of All-Stars Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland and Rudy Gobert to Minnesota that no current players did much against Toronto in the 2021-22 series – at least while with Utah.

The Jazz do have one of the betting favourites for Most Improved Player in Lauri Markkanen, who is having a career year by far in averaging 24.9 points and 8.6 rebounds. He was part of the Mitchell haul back from the Cavaliers.

Utah leads the all-time series 30-21 and is 16-10 at home, winning the past two in Salt Lake City. The Raptors are 8-1 ATS in their past nine there.

Toronto Raptors

In playing their fourth game of a seven-game road trip Monday in Phoenix, it would have been understandable for the Dinos to be worn down at some point, and that seemed to be the case late in a 114-106 loss. Toronto took an 84-82 advantage into the fourth. With OG Anunoby out again injured – he will miss the rest of the road trip at least – Precious Achiuwa started again and was very good with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Achiuwa now has a career-high seven double-doubles this season, including five in the last six games. There are new reports the Raptors are at least listening on an Anunoby trade but will demand three first-round picks. Pascal Siakam had a below-average game for him on Monday with 19 points and just three rebounds. He surely will be headed back to Salt Lake City in a couple of weeks for the All-Star Game. The Raptors are 2-5 ATS in their past seven road games vs. teams with a winning home record.

Utah Jazz

First-year coach Will Hardy has done a terrific job with a Utah team that was supposed to be one of the worst in the Western Conference as the Jazz would make the West play-in tournament as things stand. The front office, though, has no delusions and the Jazz are fully expected to be sellers ahead of the Feb. 9 Trade Deadline with guards Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson the two most likely dealt. Utah has been off since a 108-100 home win over Dallas on Saturday as the Mavs played without superstar Luka Doncic. Lauri Markkanen continued his breakout season with 29 points and deserves to play in the All-Star Game in his home gym. Rookie centre Walker Kessler is having a fine season as well and had 14 points and 11 boards vs. the Mavs. Toronto native Kelly Olynyk, another trade candidate, returned from an eight-game injury absence and had just three points in 15 minutes. He should play more Wednesday. Utah is 4-1 ATS in its past five at home.
