Raptors vs. Hornets NBA Betting Odds
The Hornets are a franchise that really can’t seem to get out of its own way as this will be the 10th straight season missing the playoffs with one winning campaign in there. Remains to be seen whether coach Charles Lee gets a third year sitting so many games under .500. The team did well in the 2025 NBA Draft, though, clearly hitting on Duke guard Kon Knueppel at No. 4 overall. He’s a Rookie of the Year candidate, currently priced as a +450 second-favorite behind former Duke teammate and Mavericks No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg (-650).
Even though Charlotte is again rebuilding, it has taken two of three vs. the Raptors this season – the Dinos haven’t lost a season series vs. the Hornets since the 2018-19 campaign. The one in North Carolina was a 118-111 OT victory on Nov. 29 behind 35 points from Miles Bridges – 10 in the OT. Knueppel had 20 points, including a leaning 3-pointer from the corner to tie the game with 10 seconds left in regulation. Toronto blew a 17-point first-half lead.
Bridges is averaging 24.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in the season series with Knueppel at 21.7 points and LaMelo Ball only at 15.0 PPG. He no longer seems happy in Charlotte, so you might see Ball dealt by the upcoming trade deadline. Immanuel Quickley leads Toronto in averaging 22.7 points in the series, while Scottie Barnes is at 19.7 points and 7.0 rebounds. RJ Barrett played in just one of the three.
Toronto still is 6-4 SU in the past 10 overall meetings but 4-6 ATS. The over-under is also 4-6.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto completed a home two-game sweep of Atlanta on Monday, 118-100, to win for the fourth time in five games overall despite centre Jakob Poeltl missing a seventh straight game with lower-back troubles. He is progressing and Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic confirmed before that game that Poeltl had been cleared for contact, but that he simply needed some conditioning work before returning. Poeltl will not return Wednesday, though. Rookie first-rounder Collin Murray-Boyles got the start Monday and had arguably his best game as a pro with 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Since Dec. 1, he ranks second in offensive rebounds (38) among all rookies. Scottie Barnes finished with 18 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. The Raptors outscored the Hawks 64-44 in the paint and shot 52.2 per cent from the field. Toronto is now 12-1 this season when hitting at least half its shots and 18-8 when scoring at least 110 points. Seven players scored in double figures Monday and now the team is 6-2 when seven players score at least 10 points. The Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their past five.
Charlotte Hornets
Charlotte has won two straight and had maybe the most stunning performance of the season on Monday, a 124-97 rout at defending NBA champion Oklahoma City, the Thunder’s worst defeat of the season. It was a season-low point total for OKC and the only time it has failed to score 100 points. The Hornets became the first Eastern Conference team to win a regular-season road game in Oklahoma City since March 12, 2024. Both Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel were in some question for the Hornets but Miller had 28 points and Knueppel 23. Centre Moussa Diabate returned from a two-game absence to finish with nine points, a game-high 12 rebounds and a season-high five assists. Good-looking rookie centre Ryan Kalkbrenner missed his eighth in a row with a sprained elbow. Charlotte controlled the boards by a margin of 52-34 and won the second-chance points tally 23-13. For Wednesday, the Hornets are trying to win three straight head-to-head meetings with the Raptors for the first time since taking six in a row from March 20, 2013 – March 6, 2015. Charlotte is 7-1 ATS in its past eight overall.
