Toronto Raptors vs. Atlanta Hawks Prediction, NBA Odds
It’s a rare two game road set in the same city for the Toronto Raptors as they prepare to face the Hawks in Atlanta on Thursday and Saturday. The Dinos are coming off a 109-93 home win against Orlando on Tuesday, while the Hawks dropped a 114-104 home decision against Detroit on Wednesday.
Atlanta is a 4.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with the total pegged at 234.5.
Raptors vs. Hawks NBA Betting Odds
This two-game set in Atlanta ends the season series between the teams. The Hawks are looking for a season sweep after blowing out the Raptors 136-107 in Toronto on Dec. 29. Atlanta’s Trae Young went off for a game-high 34 points, while no one on the Raptors cracked the 20-point mark.
This really isn’t a good spot for Toronto as they are the clear-cut worst road team in the NBA. The Raptors have one win in 20 road dates this season and they’ve dropped nine straight games outside of the Six. That doesn’t bode well for a Hawks team that is 11-8 at home.
One thing Toronto has managed to do this season is cover as they are a solid 24-18-1 against the spread, including 4-2 ATS in their last six games. It’s a different story for Atlanta, who sit 18-25 ATS overall, including just 3-7 ATS in their last 10.
The Raptors have split the Over/Under evenly this season, while the Hawks have hit the Over in a majority of their games. A lower scoring game could be on the menu on Thursday, however, as Toronto has played the Under in four of their last five games and Atlanta has finished below the number in five of six.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors picked up their third win in four games on Tuesday, which helps with confidence, but doesn’t boost their odds at winning the draft lottery. RJ Barrett led Toronto with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Scottie Barnes and Gradey Dick each dropped 17 points. Barnes also had 11 boards and finished two assists shy of a triple-double. A sneaky play on Thursday is taking the Over on Barnes’ assist total of 6.5. He’s finished above that number in three straight games and Atlanta’s defence allows the third-most assists per game in the NBA.
Atlanta Hawks
It was a tough night for the Hawks on Wednesday as they shot a season-low 16 per cent from 3-point range against Detroit, hitting just six of 38 attempts. Dyson Daniels led the team with 20 points, while Jalen Johnson had 17. Young struggled with 13 points, although he dished out nine assists. I like the Over on Young’s point total of 26.5 versus Toronto. He’s averaged 26.9 ppg in 19 career games against the Raptors and he’s finished with more than 26 points in seven of his last eight games against the Dinos.
