The season is again on the line for the Toronto Raptors on Monday as they visit the Philadelphia 76res in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference playoff series. The Sixers are 7.5-point favourites on the NBA odds.

Raptors vs. 76ers NBA Betting Odds

Philadelphia leads the series 3-1 and won each of the first two games at home by double digits. If the Sixers win Monday, they would advance to face either the top-seeded Miami Heat or No. 8 Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

On the updated series line, Philadelphia is -10000 (same price it was entering Game 4) with Toronto +1574 (was +2131). On the series handicap, the Sixers at -1.5 games are -111 and the Raptors at +1.5 are +653. The favoured exact result is Philly ending it Monday at -370 with Raptors in seven the +1699 long shot.

Sixers guard Matisse Thybulle, one of the better perimeter defenders in the NBA, will return to action Monday. He missed the previous two games in Toronto because he’s not vaccinated for COVID. The Raptors are 2-6 ATS in their past eight in Philly.

Toronto Raptors

The Dinos extended their season with a 110-102 home win in Game 4 on Saturday. Rookie Scottie Barnes returned after missing the previous two with a sprained ankle and came off the bench with six points and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes. His minutes were limited some, and Barnes could return to the starting lineup Monday and should be able to play more.

Pascal Siakam was terrific with 34 points, eight rebounds and five assists in 44 minutes. Gary Trent Jr. added 24 points. Thaddeus Young didn’t play a whole lot in the first three games but had 13 points, five rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes off the bench. Fred VanVleet strained his left hip flexor during the second quarter Saturday and is listed as questionable Monday. The Raptors are 1-4 ATS in their past five on the road.

Philadelphia 76ers

It has been revealed that NBA scoring champion Joel Embiid has a torn ligament in his right (shooting) thumb that will eventually require surgery, but he’s going to play through it. Embiid injured it in Game 3 and he said it is affecting his rebounding some. He had 21 points and eight rebounds in Game 4, his first time with fewer than 10 boards in more than a month. The Raptors did a nice job of double-teaming him in the two games in Toronto as Embiid totaled 11 turnovers in them after four combined in the first two.

James Harden led Philly with 22 points in Game 4, but his shooting struggles continued as the Beard was 5-for-17 from the field. The Sixers are 2-5 ATS in their past seven following an ATS loss.
