Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers Prediction, NBA Odds
Toronto’s surge hasn’t had a massive impact on their position in the standings. In the Eastern Conference, the Raptors remain six games behind Miami for the last play-in spot and four games ahead of Philadelphia in both the conference and league standings.
The 76ers played Miami last night, losing 118-95. The 76ers have now dropped seven straight games — the disastrous season in Philadelphia can’t end soon enough. Three of Philadelphia’s last four losses have been by double digits.
Tip-off at Wells Fargo Center is at 7:30 p.m. EDT with the Raptors a -165 favourite on the road and the total at 223.5 on the NBA odds.
Raptors vs. 76ers NBA Betting Odds
The 76ers are now 0-17 in their last 17 games against Eastern Conference opponents. Philly’s also failed to cover in six straight games and are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 at home. Toronto’s been awful on the road all season with a 10-26 record, but they are 5-3 away from home in March. Toronto’s covered in seven of their last eight road contests and are 8-2 ATS overall in their last 10 showings.
The Raptors are going for a season sweep of Philadelphia, winning all three matchups. Toronto’s covered the spread in all three wins, with their most recent meeting a 118-105 win back on March 12. A.J. Lawson scored 28 points in that win for Toronto.
Toronto Raptors
Toronto’s three-game win streak has come against opponents all below them in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia is the only other team below Toronto in the East, meaning the Raptors have a chance to sweep the four clubs below them. Nonetheless, several Raptors are playing their best basketball of the season down the stretch.
Centre Jakob Poeltl is averaging over 18 points a night in March and is shooting nearly 75 per cent from the field. Poeltl’s coming off back-to-back nights of over 20-point, 10- rebound double-doubles and his 24 on Friday versus Charlotte led the game. Immanuel Quickley is consistently reaching 20 points this month too, and is flirting with double-doubles through points and assists as of late. Even 2024 second-round pick Jamal Shead is starting to consistently score in double-digits off the bench. There’s no quit in this Raptors squad.
Philadelphia 76ers
Saturday’s loss versus Miami eliminated Philadelphia from playoff contention. It’s been a lost season as injuries to Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey have derailed what was supposed to be a promising year for the 76ers. Maxey is the only of the trio who is not ruled out for the season, but he will not be suiting up this weekend due to a finger injury.
Jared Butler led the 76ers in scoring yesterday with 19 points. Butler is in the 76ers starting lineup alongside Quentin Grimes, Justin Edwards, Adem Bona, and Guerschon Yabusele. Butler and Grimes have been the most productive as of late, but it’s been Grimes who’s been the number one scoring option for Philadelphia. He’s averaging nearly 30 points a game this month and is nearly all the team has going for them now.
