The Pelicans remain without injury-prone superstar Zion Williamson. Toronto is a 4.5-point favourite on the NBA odds.

Pelicans vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

Thursday concludes the season series between the teams as Toronto lost in New Orleans 126-108 on Nov. 30. Zion Williamson had 33 points, 10 rebounds and five assists – but the Dinos won’t have to worry about the former No. 1 overall pick this time around. Former Raptor Jonas Valanciunas had 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Despite playing without starters Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum, the Pelicans shot 52.3 per cent from the floor on 45-of-86 shooting, had 28 assists and led by as many as 31 points midway through the third quarter. Toronto was led by Gary Trent Jr., who scored 35 points, and Pascal Siakam had 23. Fred VanVleet was ejected 41 seconds into the second half with a second technical foul.

Toronto leads the all-time series 26-18 and is 12-9 at home. New Orleans is 5-1 ATS in its past six as the road team.

New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson was selected by the fans to start in last Sunday’s All-Star Game, but he couldn’t play because of a hamstring injury that has kept him out since Jan. 2, and Zion recently had a setback in his recovery so it’s unlikely we see him before March – if at all again this season. Such a shame he can’t stay healthy because the Pelicans looked like Western Conference contenders when he was healthy earlier this season. Vastly underrated guard Jose Alvarado, who usually comes off the bench for New Orleans, was named MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star Weekend. At 30-29, the Pelicans sit seventh in the West. They are given an updated over-under win total of 42.5 and are -175 to make the playoffs (past the play-in tournament) and +140 to miss. The Pelicans are 1-4 ATS in their past five road games.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto comes out of the break at 28-31 and 10th in the East. It has an updated over-under win total of 39.5 and is +165 to make the playoffs and -205 to miss. The Dinos are -370 to compete in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. They entered the break having won five of six. Jakob Poeltl has done about as expected since being acquired at the Trade Deadline from San Antonio, averaging 14.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in three games. Pascal Siakam has scored at least 25 points in four straight games and is averaging 31.5 points over that stretch. OG Anunoby hasn’t played since Jan. 27 due to a wrist injury but practiced Tuesday and should go. The Raptors have 23 games remaining in the regular season with 12 against teams with a .500 record or better. Toronto went 16-9 (.640) following the All-Star break last season. The Raptors are 7-3 ATS in their past 10 at home.
