Indiana Pacers vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds
The Toronto Raptors will be gunning for a ninth straight victory when they welcome the Indiana Pacers to Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night in NBA Cup group play action.
The Raptors are coming off yet another dominant performance in Monday’s 110-99 win over Cleveland and now sit just 2.5 games back of Detroit in the race for first place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Pacers limp into Toronto in the wake of Monday’s 122-117 loss to the visiting Pistons, and have now fallen to defeat in 15 of their first 17 games this season.
For the third time in four games, Raptors are perched as double-digit chalk on the NBA odds, favoured by 10.5 points in their second meeting of the season with Indiana. The Pacers trail as distant +375 underdogs on the NBA moneyline and the total is pegged at 234.5.
Pacers vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
The Raptors rolled to one of their most decisive victories of the season in their first meeting of the season with the Pacers with a 129-111 victory in Indiana on November 15, and have now earned the win in five of eight head-to-head clashes while covering the spread on six occasions over that stretch.
With the Raptors averaging 122.8 points per game, the total has gone OVER in six of eight dates with Indiana, which has failed to score over 120 points in its past four versus Toronto. Winners in 12 of their past 13 overall, the Raptors have also emerged as a reliable bet, going 10-3 ATS over that stretch but just 1-1 ATS in their two outings as big chalk.
The Pacers have fallen flat in the wake of their march to the NBA Finals last spring, and have yet to claim a win in nine road games during a dismal 2-15 start. In addition to being tied with Washington for last place in the East, the Pacers also rank 28th in the NBA with just 110.5 points per game while surrendering a 26th-ranked 122.8 points per game.
However, the club has shown signs of a turnaround, at least at the sportsbook, after covering the spread in their past three contests, and are 3-0 ATS this season as double-digit underdogs.
Indiana Pacers
It looked to be another long night for the Pacers while surrendering a 16-point halftime lead to the Pistons on Monday night. However, Indiana made a game of it while cutting the lead to just five points in a 122-117 loss that marked the sixth time in seven outings they have surrendered more than 120 points.
Former Raptor Pascal Siakam once again led the charge for the Pacers, recording a team high for the ninth time this season with 24 points while adding eight rebounds. Overall, “Spicy P” has 26.2 points per game over his past five outings and 17 total boards over the past two games but has tallied just 19.3 points per game in four visits to Toronto since departing the club.
Montreal’s Bennedict Mathurin has produced mixed results since his return from injury, averaging 23.3 points in his first three outings but took a step back, scoring just 14 points on 3-for-13 shooting on Monday night.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors once again silenced doubters on Monday with another character performance, overcoming an early deficit in a 110-99 win over Cleveland that leaves them with a one-game lead over Miami in the race for second place in the Eastern Conference.
It was a particularly big night for Brandon Ingram, who set a season high with 37 points. Indeed, Ingram lit up the Cavs from all over the court, shooting 15-for-30 including five threes while adding seven board. Ingram’s breakthrough is welcome after he mustered just 14 points in Sunday’s 119-109 win over Brooklyn, and he has now averaged 24.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game on home court this season.
Ingram was not the only Raptor who kept busy under the bucket. Scottie Barnes tallied his eighth double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds while big man Jakob Poeltl compiled a season-high 13 rebounds and has now averaged 9.3 boards per game this month and is a high-value +100 bet on the NBA player props to record at least 10 rebounds on Wednesday.
