Indiana opened as solid favourites to win on the NBA odds.
Pacers vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
Toronto is 14-26 at Scotiabank Arena, and this will mark the second time in the past 10 seasons the Raptors finish below .500 at home; the other was the 2020-21 COVID campaign played in Tampa. Toronto still ranks sixth in the NBA in home win-loss percentage over the last 10 seasons. The team figures to look quite a bit different next time it takes the court at Scotiabank Arena in October.
Indiana is one of the most improved teams in the NBA this season behind All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who took a leap to superstardom. The Pacers will play extra basketball for the first time since 2020 and currently sit sixth in the East, a game up on Philadelphia to avoid the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. Atop Indiana’s offseason to-do list is to re-sign pending free agent Pascal Siakam, acquired from Toronto in mid-January. The Pacers wouldn’t have made the trade if they didn’t believe Siakam would stay.
The Raptors lead the season series 2-1 but lost the one at home, 127-125 on Feb. 14 in Siakam’s first game back in Toronto. He had 23 points. Indiana leads all-time 56-49 but trails 31-21 as the road team. The Raptors have won or tied their season series with the Pacers in 10 of their last 12 seasons.
Indiana Pacers
In its effort to avoid the East play-in tournament, the Pacers got a huge home win over Miami on Sunday, 117-115, as they now hold a tiebreaker over the current East No. 8 Heat. Indiana also holds one over current No. 7 Philadelphia. Centre Myles Turner dislocated his finger early last week but showed no signs on Sunday with a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds. Tyrese Haliburton was rather quiet with 12 points and eight assists but continues to lead the NBA in helpers at 10.9 per game. Led largely by Haliburton, the Pacers lead the NBA in scoring at 122.7 points per game. They have scored at least 120 points in 51 games, the most in the NBA since the Denver Nuggets also had 51 such games in 1983-84. The Pacers have reached 140 or more points nine times this season (8-1 record), which is the most in franchise history. Indiana is 10-1-1 ATS in its past Tuesday games.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors had a respectable roster on Sunday and it showed as they won a second straight game, 130-122 over a bad Washington team. Immanuel Quickley had a season-high 31 points to go with 13 assists, RJ Barrett had 22 points, seven assists and eight rebounds, Gary Trent Jr. 20 points and seven rebounds, and Kelly Olynyk 21 points and nine boards. Trent Jr. was playing through an illness that originally had him listed questionable. It marked the first time in franchise history that the four Raptors had at least 20 points, five rebounds & five assists in a game as all four of those guys did it. Rookie Gradey Dick had 13 points in 25 minutes off the bench before leaving with a groin contusion. He has scored in double figures in six straight games. Barrett’s 638 points scored in his first 30 games with the Raptors are second-most through a player’s first 30 with the team behind Kawhi Leonard’s 819. The Raptors are 3-10 ATS in their past 13.
