Tuesday is the last look for the Toronto Raptors this season, at NBA championship-favoured Brooklyn, as the Nets visit Tampa, Fla. The Nets are solid favourites on the NBA odds.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

While the Raptors are playing the second of a back-to-back, the same can’t be said for the Nets. Thus, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Blake Griffin should all play – although the way this NBA season has been going with guys getting hurt/rested, obviously monitor the situation. Another superstar, James Harden, recently had a setback with his hamstring injury and probably won’t return during the regular season. Toronto could also rest a key player or two.

It’s possible the Raptors face the Nets in the playoffs if Toronto can get into the play-in tournament and the Nets are seeded in the right spot atop the Eastern Conference.

Regardless, the Raptors are going for the three-game season sweep. They beat the Nets 123-117 in Brooklyn on Feb. 5 and 114-103 in Tampa last Wednesday. Durant and Harden missed that one. That was also the game Toronto centre Chris Boucher went down with a knee injury, and he remains out.

Toronto is 4-0 against the spread in the past four meetings between these teams and they have won 11 in a row straight up as the home team against Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Nets

Kevin Durant returned on Sunday for the first time in a week, due to yet another injury.  Durant didn’t miss a beat as the Nets beat the visiting Phoenix Suns 128-119 in a potential NBA Finals preview. KD was 12- for-21 for 33 points with six rebounds and four assists in just 28 minutes off the bench. He will probably return to the starting lineup Tuesday. Kyrie Irving had a team-high 34 points and 12 assists as the Nets improved to 20-6 vs. the Western Conference.

Since James Harden’s debut, Brooklyn is 26-8 when at least two of the Big Three (Harden, Durant and Irving) play. The Nets need to keep winning as they battle Philadelphia (which would win the tiebreaker) for the top seed in the East. Brooklyn is 6-2 ATS in its past eight overall.

Toronto Raptors

Monday was a good night for Toronto because current East No. 10 Washington, saw its eight-game winning streak end, while the Dinos easily handled the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers 112-96 to move within a game of the Wizards for the final spot in the play-in tournament (Chicago is also tied for 11th). Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet combined to shoot just 6-for-19 on Monday for 17 points, but the slack was picked up by Pascal Siakam (25 points), OG Anunoby (20 points) and rookie Malachi Flynn (18 points off the bench).

Flynn got more playing time as Gary Trent Jr. has been sidelined with a left lower leg contusion. It’s not clear if Trent will play Tuesday, and the Dinos have certainly rested healthy guys like Lowry, Siakam, etc., in the second of a back-to-back previously, although the NBA recently fined them for doing that. Toronto is 2-5 ATS in its past seven as an underdog.
