The Hornets opened a current three-game home stand with Saturday’s 123-117 win over San Antonio, and now enjoy their first win streak since late January. Currently deadlocked with Charlotte in the conference standings, the Nets dropped a 126-120 decision in Boston on Sunday to fall to 1-6 in their past seven games.

After briefly vaulting to 4.5-point favourites, the Nets have dipped to 3-point chalk despite commanding 86% of the betting action. Accordingly, the Hornets have faded to +131 home underdogs. With 75% of sports bettors backing the UNDER, the total has tumbled to 239.5 after peaking early at a lofty 242.0.

Nets vs. Hornets NBA Betting Odds

Tuesday night’s betting matchup at Spectrum Center marks the second of three regular season dates between these clubs. The Hornets posted a 111-95 win when they visited Brooklyn on October 24, but have failed to record consecutive outright victories during a 6-8 run versus the Nets. The Nets also hold the edge in recent meetings, winning and covering in five of their past eight, and have also won and covered in three of four visits to Charlotte. Recent dates between these teams have tended to be low scoring, with the total topping 220 just twice over their past eight, fueling a 6-2 run for the UNDER.

The Hornets hope to have turned the corner on a recent dismal 2-10 run by claiming victory in their past two outings. Charlotte has also won two of three at home after losing eight of their previous 10. The club has averaged a steady 119.8 points per game over their past five outings. However, the Hornets’ 28th-ranked defence has continued to give up big point totals, surrendering 117 or more in three of four. The Nets tallied 120 points for just the second time in 19 games in Sunday’s loss in Boston, but it was not enough to avoid their 14th loss in 17 outings. However, the Nets’ current slide has produced steady payouts for sports bettors taking the OVER, which is currently on a 10-3 run.

Brooklyn Nets

Kevin Durant hasn’t missed a beat since returning to action after missing six weeks with a knee injury. KD has averaged 34 points in two appearances since returning, and piled up 38 points in the team’s October loss to Charlotte. However, the club remains without injured big man LaMarcus Aldridge, and Ben Simmons still hasn’t made his debut after being acquired in a blockbuster deal at the trade deadline.

Charlotte Hornets

Fast starts have been key to the Hornets’ recent success. The club topped 60 points before halftime for the third time in five contests in Saturday’s win over the Spurs, and showed signs of improving their defence during that stretch by holding both Cleveland and Toronto to fewer than 100 points. Terry Rozier deserves plenty of credit his recent play. The Hornets shooting guard has averaged 26.2 points per game over his past five outings, and topped 30 points in each of his past two home appearances.
