NBA: Kobe Dunks on LeBron as West Win All-Star Game
LeBron James hit a triple-double, only the second in the history of the All-Star game, but Kobe Bryant sent out a loud message to all of the NBA as he collected the MVP award on his home court.
The Kloser demands attention
Black Mamba was in no mood to step out of the limelight on Sunday night. Blake Griffin has stolen many of his headlines in Los Angeles. The Heat have taken attention on a national level away from his Lakers. LeBron’s performances on the court continue to push the public perception towards King James usurping Kobe as the greatest player in the NBA. Black Mamba chose a good moment to remind the world that he is still the alpha male of professional Basketball. In the Staples Center, he led the West to a 148-143 victory. In the process he comfortably outshone his rookie team-mate Griffin and put the three highest profile members of the Heat to the sword. He saved a particularly personal message for LBJ.

It was four stages of domination. Black Mamba first stared down LeBron, laying down the challenge. Then Kobe posterized the pretender to his throne. He rubbed salt in the wound with that pat on LeBron’s ass. Finally the Kloser reminded us all that he’s dangerous from everywhere with a follow-up three-pointer.
It wasn’t Kobe winning the MVP award with 37 points and 14 rebounds, both game-highs, that saw him steal the limelight from LeBron’s triple-double of 29 points 12 rebounds and 10 assists. King James matched a feat only previously achieved by Michael Jordan but it was Kobe’s victory in this mental battle that NBA betting fans will remember come the playoffs.
Now it’s time for the real business to begin
Kobe took home his fourth All-Star game MVP award but he has his eyes on the biggest prize of all. A second three-peat, without Shaq to steal his thunder this time around, would see him match Jordan’s trophy-haul in Chicago. Last night the Kloser stood tall in the NBA world and issued a challenge to his fellow Lakers. The Heatles suffer like mere mortals when infected with Black Mamba’s venom. If Miami’s star trio can be beaten, then there is no team in NBA the Lakers should fear.
Kobe can carry Los Angeles most of the way to another NBA Champhionship but even the Kloser can’t do it all on his own. Now is the time, in these final few months, for his team-mates to raise their games. The All-Star break was a time to re-energize, no it’s time for the Lakers to come out and attack.
