With Wednesday’s victory, the Mavericks have now won three in a row and sport an impressive 5-1 record in their past six road contests. For the Timberwolves, their series-opening loss extended their woes at home, where they have now lost three of four overall, and have also fallen to outright defeat in three of their past four as betting chalk.

Despite their recent struggles, the Timberwolves look to Friday’s contest as 5.5-point favorites on the Game 2 odds. However, Minnesota has tumbled to a +130 underdog on the NBA series prices, where the Mavericks now lead the way as -155 chalk. The total for Game 2 is pegged at 207.5.

Mavericks vs. Timberwolves NBA Playoff Betting Odds

After quickly seizing an early lead in Game 1, the Timberwolves seemingly ran out of gas after recess, scoring just 43 second-half points on their way to a 108-105 loss, and have now recording just 102 points per game over their past six outings. Not surprisingly, that is reflected in the T-Wolves’ shooting percentage, with the club managing to top the 48.5% field goal percentage they compiled during the regular season just once in their past six outings. However, with the total getting consistently pegged below 210, the OVER has paid out in four of Minnesota’s past six outings.

Winners in 14 of their past 19 overall away contests, the Mavericks have fueled their road warriors with stingy defensive performances. The Mavs have limited opponents to 93 or fewer points in four of their past six road contests and have surrendered more than 110n points just twice in their past 16 away dates, fueling an 11-5 run for the UNDER in totals betting.

Dallas Mavericks

Despite battling a nagging knee injury that has made him a fixture on game day injury reports, Luka Doncic turned in another dominating performance in Game 1, racking up a game-high 33 points, along with eight assists. Officially, listed as probable for Friday, Doncic has now averaged 31 points over his past three games and just under 10 helpers over his past four outings, and is worth backing on the NBA player props as a +100 bet to be the top point getter on Friday night. Kyrie Irving enjoyed another big night at Target Center, where he has enjoyed plenty of success, turning in his best performance since the first round with 30 points. However, this club could use more production from the bench, which generated just 14 combined points in Game 1.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The T-Wolves shot just 42.7% from the field in Game 1, with two of their biggest stars consistently missing the mark. The series-opening favourite to claim West Finals MVP honours, Anthony Edwards went just 6-for-16 for 19 points, and has now converted just 30% while averaging 18.5 points over his past two games, and now trails Luka Doncic as a +160 bet on the West Finals MVP odds. Things went no better for Karl-Anthony Towns, who went just 6-for-20 from the floor for 16 points, and has now averaged just 20 points per game over his past four outings. The T-Wolves benefited from contributions off the bench from Kyle Anderson and Naz Reid, who combined for 26 points, but must get more out of their big shooters if they are to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.
