Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns Game 2 Prediction, NBA Odds

The Suns ending up winning only by seven points but never trailed during their 121-114 win and were up by double digits at the half.

What’s even more troublesome for Dallas is they got a magnificent performance from star point guard Luka Doncic, who led the Mavs in all of points (45), rebounds (12), and assists (8) in a losing effort.

Game 2 tips off at Footprint Center at 10 p.m. EDT Wednesday, with Phoenix a six-point favourite at home and the over-under up to 216 on the NBA odds.

Mavericks vs. Suns NBA Betting Odds

Monday was Phoenix’s 10th consecutive victory over Dallas, and the 16th time they’ve covered the spread in their last 20 meetings with the Mavericks. Dallas’ loss against the spread snapped a 5-0 ATS run for the club. The Suns covered for the straight time.

With the over hitting in Game 1, it’s now 6-2 in Dallas’ last eight road games and 5-1 in Phoenix’s last six overall. The Suns are also now 7-2 outright in their last nine home games and are now 35-10 at home on the season. Dallas is 27-18 ATS on the road this season.

Dallas Mavericks

Outside of Doncic’s do-it-all night, Maxi Kleber stood out for the Mavs in Game 1 with 19 points and five threes off the bench. Kleber started off Dallas’ first round series with a trio of double-digit outings before scoring a combined 10 points in their last three games, making him to be a streaky performer.

Dallas didn’t get a whole lot from their other four starters Monday with centre Dorian Finney-Smith and guard Jalen Brunson the only others posting double-digit points, and neither scoring more than 15. The Mavs also only grabbed 36 rebounds to Phoenix’s 51 and this is a Dallas squad that finished 24th in rebounding this season.

Phoenix Suns

Phoenix had a more balanced attack Monday, with all five starters finishing in double digits and centre Deandre Ayton leading the way with 25 points on 12 of 20 shooting from the field. Devin Booker was right behind with 23 points and team highs with nine rebounds and eight assists. Chris Paul added 19 points, while Cam Johnson added a spark with 17 points off the bench.

Ayton, Booker, and Paul are the Suns’ version of a big three but when supporting players like Cam Johnson and Jae Crowder are also contributing in big ways… Phoenix shows why they are a sure-fire title contender.
