Mavericks vs. Suns NBA Playoff Betting Odds
After starting off their first round series with a loss against the spread, Dallas rallied off five straight covers to close out their series. The under also hit in Dallas’ last three games. Phoenix covered in four of their six playoff games so far, with the over also going 4-2 in that series.
These clubs met three times during the regular season and the Suns won all three. Two of the three games were played back-to-back in November, and Dallas never scored over 104 points against Phoenix. The under is 6-2 in the last eight Mavs-Suns meetings, and 6-1 in Phoenix’s last seven games overall.
Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks overcame a 0-1 deficit to Utah, as well as a three-game absence from superstar Luka Doncic who has since healed up from a calf injury and led Dallas in scoring in the series’ final three contests. Doncic led Dallas in points (28.4), rebounds (9.1), and assists (8.7) during the regular season and is averaging 29, 10.7, and 5.7 through three playoff games.
Fourth-year point guard Jalen Brunson had a massive series for the Mavs, scoring 27.8 points per game in six starts, including 41-point and 31-point showings in games 2 and 3. Brunson averaged a career-best 16 points this season but so far has come to play in the post-season. After these two, Spencer Dinwiddie is another name to watch after averaging 15.3 points in the first round while coming off the bench in three games.
Phoenix Suns
After leading the NBA with 64 wins, the Suns overcame some adversity of their own after splitting their first four playoff games with New Orleans. Devin Booker missed games 2 through 5 in the first round due to injury but returned in their series-clinching victory. But throughout Phoenix’s first round series, it was the Chris Paul show.
Paul averaged 22 points and 11 assists against New Orleans and capped off the series with a 33-point night while going a perfect 14 for 14 from the field. The 36-year-old point guard shot nearly 57 per cent from the field in the series. Booker actually led Phoenix in the first round with 23 points per game.
