Dallas Mavericks vs. LA Clippers Game 2 Prediction, Playoff Odds

The Clippers are expected to come back out with a lot more adjustments and should be able to get back on track in Game 2, though it won’t be easy if the Mavericks continue to shoot lights out from three-point land. Which of these teams will be able to pick up a victory in Game 2?

Mavericks vs. Clippers NBA Playoff Odds

Dallas is 5-0 ATS in their past five games on the road against a team with a home winning percentage over .600 on the year. They surprised quite a bit of people by dominating the three-point line during Game 1.

On the other hand, the Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games at home against a team with a winning road record. They are 14-6 straight up off a loss as a favorite this season but they are just 11-9 ATS in those games.

Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks may have had one of their best shooting games of the season in Game 1. As a whole, their team shot 47.2 percent from three-point range. Dorian Finney-Smith knocked down four and Tim Hardaway Jr. dropped in five. Dallas is going to be looking for that same level of production from their supporting cast again because they’re the key. Los Angeles is likely to throw all of their defensive pressure at Doncic and for good reason. That will leave a lot of open shots available for those two guys. What’s impressive is the Mavs won without getting a lot out of Kristaps Porzingis, who posted 14 points and four rebounds in 36 minutes of action.

Overall, the Mavs are quite confident in the series right now. They lost to the Clippers in playoffs last year and that appears to have been a good experience as this isn’t new to them anymore.

Los Angeles Clippers

Game 1 was definitely a game to forget for the Clippers. Their superstar duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George struggled far more than many expected. Leonard put up 26 points on 9-22 shooting from the field while George added 23 on 8-18 shooting. Marcus Morris Sr. also missed all six of his three-point attempts and ended the game with just four points. Their starters were very underwhelming but their bench crew was surprisingly really good. Players like Rajon Rondo and Nicolas Batum were crucial to this team even staying in the game during that first contest.

The issue is this team is developing a mental block. They’ve had issues in the past as a franchise and it appears to be happening again. They’ll need a win in Game 2 to prove otherwise.
