Orlando Magic vs. Toronto Raptors Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
The Raptors have clinched the best record in the Eastern Conference and set a new franchise record for most wins in a regular season with 57. They try for win No. 58 and a season series sweep against the Orlando Magic in a Sunday NBA matchup.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Orlando is in the battle at the bottom of the standings for NBA lottery positioning. The Magic own the fifth worst record in the league at 24-55 (36-42-1 against the spread) and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games. They’re coming off a 37-point loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night and haven’t scored more than 105 points in a game since March 7th. (The under is 12-5 during that same period).
The Raptors took advantage of a dead-legged Indiana side and won going away 92-73 on Friday night. Toronto hasn’t allowed more than 78 points in either of its last two games. The under is 3-0 in the Raps’ last three games. The Dinos improved to 57-22 SU and 42-37 ATS on the year following Friday’s game.
The Raptors are pegged as second favourites to win the Eastern Conference at +105 behind the Cleveland Cavaliers at even money (+100).
Orlando Magic
Orlando’s player rotations change on a nightly basis because of all the injuries and playing resting going on with the club. Former Raptor Terrence Ross is expected to play his first game since November because of a knee injury.
If he plays, the Magic could run out their season-opening front court line of Ross, Aaron Gordon and pivot Nikola Vucevic. Each player has missed extensive time this season due to injuries. Vucevic and Gordon both missed the game against Charlotte on Friday because of injuries but a cynic would suggest the Magic are just asking their best players to sit in these late season games to improve their draft lottery odds.
Toronto Raptors
It’s a small sample size but over the last four games the Reptiles own the fifth worst offence in the league. They’ve been held under 100 points in three of their last four games and leading scorer DeMar DeRozan is averaging just 15.7 points per game this month.
