LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will visit Steph Curry and the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors, who are 4.5-point favourites on the NBA odds.

Lakers vs. Warriors NBA Playoff Betting Odds

Somehow, these California franchises haven’t met in a playoff series since 1991. They did meet in a 2019 play-in tournament game in Los Angeles, and the Lakers won 103-100 on a long three-pointer by LeBron James with under a minute left.

Golden State is -167 on the series line with Los Angeles +125. On the series handicap, the Lakers at +1.5 games are -200 and the Warriors -1.5 games are +148. The over-under total games is 5.5 with the over a -208 leader. That it finishes in seven is the +175 leader and a sweep is +567. The favoured exact result is Warriors in seven at +295, and that’s where we lean.

The Lakers are 5-2 ATS in the past seven meetings.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers beat Minnesota in the play-in game to earn the West’s No. 7 seed and then upset No. 2 Memphis in six games in the first round, capped by a 125-85 blowout to eliminate the Grizzlies on Friday. LeBron James had 22 points, Anthony Davis 16 points and 14 assists, and D’Angelo Russell a playoff career-high 31 points. Russell played for the Warriors for part of the 2019-20 season. The Lakers became just the sixth No. 7 seed in NBA history to beat a 2 seed in Round 1 of the playoffs and the first to do so since San Antonio defeated Dallas in 2010. James has now won 40 playoff series in his career, tying Derek Fisher for most of all time. The Lakers was 3-1 vs. Golden State this season, going 2-0 at home and 1-1 in San Francisco. The Lakers are 1-4 ATS in their past five on the road.

Golden State Warriors

Sixth-seeded Golden State won just 11 regular-season road games but two at third-seeded Sacramento in their first-round series, including the clinching Game 6 on Sunday, 120-100, behind 50 points from Steph Curry – the most in a Game 7 in  NBA history. Curry became the second player at age 35 or older to score 200 points in a playoff series, joining Michael Jordan, who did it in the 1998 conference finals and NBA Finals. With the Warriors winning, all eight seeds are represented in the conference semifinals for the first time. Golden State was the first defending champion lose the first two games of a playoff series but eventually win the series. The Warriors have won 19 straight playoff series against Western Conference opponents. They are 2-6 ATS in their past eight following a double-digit win.
