The Lakers travel to South Florida after splitting the first two games of their current four-game road trip, capped by Monday’s lopsided 109-80 loss in Minnesota. The Heat return home after coming up winless on a recent two-game road trip, which closed with Monday’s 108-89 loss in Boston but have earned the win in three of their past four home contests.

The Heat are listed as 2.5-point home favourites on the Wednesday NBA odds. The Lakers trail as +110 underdogs on the NBA moneyline and the total is pegged at 215.5.

Lakers vs. Heat NBA Betting Odds

Wednesday’s matchup will be the first of two this season between these long-time rivals. The Heat swept last season’s two-game series with LA, including a narrow 108-107 win that extended their head-to-head win steak on home hardwood to four games. Overall, Miami has won six of eight regular season dates with the Lakers but has produced mixed results on the NBA odds, covering the spread in just four of their past nine matchups and just two of five at home.

The Heat has also been a massive betting disappointment this season. The club has covered in back-to-back games just once while compiling an 8-11 record against the spread and have won outright in just four of seven this season as home chalk. The Lakers have not done any better. In addition to losing five of seven, the Lakers are a dismal 2-9 ATS over their past 11 games and have covered in just two of 10 on the road.

Los Angeles Lakers

Points continue to come at a premium for the Lakers, who have averaged just 102.4 points during their 2-5 swoon while falling to defeat by double-digit margins three times over that stretch. And injuries have not helped matters. Anthony Davis is expected to suit up on Wednesday despite still struggling with a foot injury that has limited his effectiveness. The big man has reached 20 points just twice in six games but has still been a force in the paint while reaching double-digits in rebounds in six straight games. LeBron James has also struggled, averaging just 16.8 points over his past six games, capped by a season-worst 10-point performance in Minnesota on Monday night.

Miami Heat

The Heat are looking to rebound from their lowest-scoring performance of the season in Monday’s loss to the Celtics. The club averaged just 102.5 during their just completed road trip and have now scored 110 or fewer points in five of eight outings. Injuries have emerged as a major headache. Nikola Jovic has been ruled out for a sixth straight game with an ankle injury while veterans Jimmy Butler and Kevin Love remain listed as questionable. That has left Tyler Herro to carry the load on offence. The 24-year-old point guard has averaged 25 points per game over his past four outings but has topped 18 points just once in four home appearances.
