The Los Angeles Lakers will be meeting up with the Chicago Bulls for the second time this week in hopes of a very different result. The Lakers were taken down at home by the Bulls on Sunday in the game that saw LeBron James finally make his long-awaited return to the court. Many bettors poured in money on the Lakers, figuring they would have a good showing with LeBron back, but that never transpired as they were blown out at home. Can L.A. get their anticipated win on the road in Chicago tonight?

The Lakers are 2.5-point favourites to win on the NBA odds.

Lakers vs. Bulls NBA Betting Odds

The Lakers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games played when coming into the matchup with two days of rest. They are also 7-3 ATS across their last 10 games overall. As for their total, the under has cashed in six of their last seven games when coming off a double-digit loss at home. Los Angeles is also 5-1 ATS in their last six meetings against the Bulls in Chicago.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall and 42-20-1 ATS in their past 63 games played at home when going up against a team with a losing road record on the season. Their total has seen the over cash out in each of their last four games against a team with a losing record.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers were missing LeBron for around four weeks (13 games) as he remained out with a right foot injury. It was a surprise when he returned to the floor this week and even more so when he came off the bench in order to get a rhythm. Unfortunately, his return was deflated by the back they were thoroughly outmatched the entire night. Chicago had a lead as large as 20 points, but it never got much closer than single digits after halftime. Chicago wound up winning that by 10.

There’s no doubt that chemistry is still needed for this Lakers team. After all the trade deadline moves, they had to get adjusted to playing with one another. Now, they throw one of the greatest players of all-time back into the rotation and the chemistry will have to restart all over again. They will also be getting D’Angelo Russell back after he missed the past two games. If both are healthy, this should be an infusion of about 39 points of offence on paper. Of course, it’s not that simple, though.

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls lost some steam after losing to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday yet they still have this Lakers game marked on their calendars. It’s not because there’s a historic rivalry between them but because newly signed Patrick Beverley is out for justice. Beverley was traded off the team at the deadline and played with a chip on his shoulder when he returned to face the Lakers. He was all over the court. It was clear that he made this contest personal, and he might encourage Chicago to feel the same way once more on Wednesday.

It wasn’t just Beverley that played well, though. The Bulls contained Anthony Davis the whole night even while their starting center Nikola Vucevic was ejected. Davis ended the game with just 15 points and nine rebounds.

This Bulls team has won seven of 10 and if the Lakers come out flat again, they’ll probably extend their streak to eight wins in their last 11.
