New York Knicks vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds
The Toronto Raptors look to snap an 11-game head-to-head losing streak versus the New York Knicks when they host their Eastern Conference rivals on Tuesday night in NBA betting action at Scotiabank Arena.
The Raptors halted a two-game slide with Saturday’s 134-125 victory in Washington, but remain winless in three straight home contests and remain stalled in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Knicks arrive in Toronto on a two-game win streak after rolling to a 114-89 win over the visiting San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, and have won seven of their past nine on the road heading into Tuesday’s action.
The Raptors trail as 2.5-point home underdogs on Tuesday’s NBA odds, and are pegged as a +120 bet on the NBA moneyline. The total for Tuesday’s contest is set at 222.5.
Knicks vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
The Raptors will have yet another opportunity to halt their lengthening run of futility against New York when they host the Knicks on Tuesday night. The club saw their head-to-head woes extended with decisive defeats in each of their first three meetings of the season with the Knicks, and have lost by an average of 21.5 points in two previous dates at Scotiabank Arena.
Indeed, the Raptors have been a massive betting disappointment during their slide versus New York, going 1-10 ATS while falling to defeat by double-digit margins on eight occasions. The Raptors must overcome recent woes on home hardwood, averaging just 103 points per game during a 0-3 SU slide. However, they have tightened up on defence, limiting opponents to 110 or fewer points five times over their past eight outings.
The Raptors have also been steady on defence while winning five of seven overall, limiting opponents to under 100 points on four occasions, and surrendering just 96.8 points per game during a 4-1 SU run on the road.
New York Knicks
Mikal Bridges stepped up with his best performance since late January in Sunday’s win over the Spurs. The 29-year-old tallied a team-high 25 points in his third-highest scoring performance of the season, and contributed defensively with five rebounds and five steals. The breakthrough is welcome for Bridges, who averaged just 11.6 points over his previous five outings, and scored 20+ just three times since the beginning of February.
However, Bridges has produced mixed results versus Toronto, scoring a season-high 30 points in a 119-92 road win on January 28 after tallying just 29 total points in two previous meetings this season. Karl-Anthony Towns has also produced middling points totals, averaging just 14.3 points per game over his past three contests, but has remained dominant in the paint, averaging 12.7 boards while recording 13 double-doubles over his past 15 games.
Toronto Raptors
Immanuel Quickley once again made his presence felt in Saturday’s victory over the Wizards, post team-highs with 27 points and 11 assists. That marked the 26-year-old’s first double-double since late January and fifth of the season. However, Quickley has remained a steady point producer, averaging 24 points over his past four outings but has reached 20 points just once in his past four home dates.
Jakob Poeltl raised hopes that he has put his season-long injury woes behind him with an 18-point, 10-rebound performance. The big man has been used sparingly while he deals with a nagging back injury, but has averaged 13 points and 8.3 boards while seeing action in three of the club’s past four games, and will be looked to for a big performance under the bucket in Tuesday night’s contest.
