The Sixers led by as many as five points in the dying seconds of Game 2 but were undone by a costly turnover and missed opportunities while watching the Knicks take a 2-0 series.

With their backs to the wall, the 76ers return home as 4.5-point favourites on the NBA Game 3 odds, with the total listed at 201.5. But after taking the first two games of the series, the Knicks have soared to -500 chalk on the NBA series prices while Philadelphia has faded to a +375 longshot to bounce back and win this series.

Knicks vs. 76ers NBA Playoff Betting Odds

With Monday’s win, the Knicks extended their recent domination of the Sixers, and have now won three straight and seven of 10 meetings between these clubs. However, New York has work to do to overcome a dismal slide on the road in NBA playoff action, posting wins in just five of their 26 postseason games away from Madison Square Garden since 2000. The Knicks are also winless in three straight Game 3 road games, with each of those defeats coming by double-digit margins, and are a middling 4-4 in their past eight overall away games.

In the wake of Monday’s brutal loss, the Sixers face the daunting task of trying to overcome a 0-2 playoff series for the first time in franchise history. However, that feat has been accomplished six times across the league since 2021, and the Sixers enjoy the benefit of recent success on home hardwood, where they have won five straight by an average margin of 11.2 points.

New York Knicks

Once again, the Knicks received contributions from all their starters in Monday’s impressive victory. Jalen Brunson led the way with a team-high 24 points in Game 2 and have now averaged 23 points in the series after piling up 38.1 points per game over the final seven dates of the regular season. Veteran Josh Hart has also emerged as a workhorse. The 29-year-old shooting guard picked up 21 points and 15 rebounds while playing every second of Game 2, and has now recorded double-doubles in each of the first two games of the series. Hart also posted double-doubles in three of four regular season clashes with the Sixers, averaging 14 points and 13.5 boards in two visits to Philadelphia, and leads all players on the NBA Game 3 player props as a -210 bet to record another double-double on Thursday.

Philadelphia 76ers

Winners in just three of their past nine playoff games, the 76ers face a big test of character on Thursday after letting victory slip through their fingers on Monday night. Complicating matters is the uncertain status of star big man Joel Embiid, who appeared to have reinjured his wonky knee in Game 1. In addition to nursing a knee injury, Embiid was the target of criticism for his reaction to the team’s Game 2 collapse, and how he responds on Thursday will have a big impact on this team’s fate. Injured or not, Embiid has continued to produce, tallying 34 points and 10 boards in Game 2, and has dropped 30.7 points per games in seven outings since returning from injury at the beginning of the month. Tyrese Maxey also came up big in Game 2 with 35 points, 10 assists, and nine boards, but paying out as a -115 bet to top 37.5 points+rebounds+assists on Thursday is a tall order.
