The Sacramento Kings just upset the surging Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday and are hoping to capitalize on that momentum. They’ve been a mixed bag all season, winning four out of their last six games after starting the year 0-4.

As for the Los Angeles Lakers, they’ve been downright atrocious. They are 2-9 on the year and are simply a poorly constructed roster overall. On Friday, they’re going to be without LeBron James. Are the Lakers a team to fade in this spot?

Sacramento is a 4-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with a total of 231.5.

Kings vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds

The Kings have covered seven of their last eight games when going up against teams with a winning percentage lower than .400 on the year. They are also 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall this season. As for the total, the under has cashed in their last five games following a straight up win.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are just 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games against teams with a losing straight-up record and 0-4 ATS in their last four overall. The under is similarly consistent for Los Angeles also, cashing in six out of their last eight following an ATS loss.

Sacramento Kings

The Kings have a surprisingly great group of players right now but they didn’t start their season great. De’Aaron Fox is averaging 25.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game while being their primary ball handler on offence. His new partner, Domantas Sabonis, is second on the team with 16.8 points and 10.4 rebounds a night.

This team even has surprising depth after these two guys. Hard-nosed defensive player Davion Mitchell, sharpshooter Kevin Huerter and exciting new rookie Keegan Murray are all getting valuable minutes on the floor. Not only have the Kings found a big two, they have a supporting cast that’s growing around them. Murray and Huerter are combining for 29.6 points per game.

It’s been a long time coming but it feels like this Kings team finally has a foundation.

Los Angeles Lakers

Where do you start with the Lakers? LeBron James is already ruled out for this game following an injury he suffered in their last game. Anthony Davis is listed as probable but suffers from back tightness as well, which might impact him at least a little bit. Even with them healthy, there just isn’t enough chemistry or spacing to stay consistent on offence.

The shooting is amongst the worst in the league. As a team, they are shooting 44.5 per cent from the field and 32.0 per cent from the three-point line. Russell Westbrook is shooting 43.6 per cent from the field, Kendrick Nunn is even worse at 32.8 per cent and Patrick Beverley is somehow below both at 29.3. This is all just a taste of what their backcourt has looked like all season long. Regardless of if LeBron or Davis is playing, this isn’t a well-built team.
