Miami Heat vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds
The Toronto Raptors’ hopes of finishing the regular season among the top six in the Eastern Conference could hang in the balance as the club kicks off a two-game set with the conference-rival Miami Heat on Tuesday night in NBA betting action at Scotiabank Arena.
The Raptors return home on the heels of a decisive 115-101 loss in Boston on Sunday that marks their fourth defeat in seven games, but maintain control of sixth place, just two games up on 10th-place Miami.
The Heat open a three-game road trip in Toronto after outpacing Washington 152-136 on Saturday to earn just their third win in their past 11 contests.
The Raptors get set to hit the hardwood perched as 2.5-point home favourites on Tuesday’s NBA odds. The Heat trail as +100 underdogs on the NBA moneyline and the total sits at a lofty 240.5.
Heat vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
The Raptors held the upper hand in their first two meetings of the season with the Heat, tallying a pair of victories in Miami just before Christmas, capped by a 112-91 victory on December 23, and have now posted consecutive wins over the Heat for the first time in 10 dates.
Overall, the Raptors have limited the Heat to just 93.5 points per game in their two clashes this season, which marks their pest defensive performances against Miami since October 2022. However, the Raptors have tended to give up big point totals during their middling stretch run, surrendering 123+ points twice over their past four games, and an average of 117.9 points over their past eight away dates.
The Heat are coming off their biggest offensive performance of the season in Saturday’s 152-136 win over the Wizards and has now scored 130+ points seven times this season while twice topping 150. But while the Heat rank second in the NBA with 120.8 points scored per game, they have struggled defensively, allowing a massive 129.9 points per game during their current 3-11 run, and have seen the OVER go 9-2 during that stretch.
Miami Heat
Injuries have emerged as a big concern for the Heat during their late-season swoon. Former Raptor and Heat leading scorer Norman Powell has yet to see action in April due to an illness, but is expected to return to the lineup tonight for the first time since March 27. Tyler Herro was also absent for the club’s date with Washington due to personal reason, but could also return on Tuesday. However, big man Nikola Jovic remains on the shelf with an ankle injury that is expected to sideline him for at least the next three games.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. picked up the slack versus Washington, scoring a season-high 32 points in his first 20+ point outing in five games, but has contributed under the bucket while pulling down 6.8 rebounds per game over his past four outings. Bam Adebayo has maintained the momentum generated by his historic 83-point performance versus the Wizards on March 10. The big man has averaged 21 points and 11.9 boards while recording seven double-doubles in 11 games since.
Toronto Raptors
It was largely a forgettable night for the Raptors in Boston on Sunday, with second-year guard Ja’Kobe Walter emerging as the club’s top scorer with just 16 points.
Scottie Barnes’ recent woes continued against the Celtics. Barnes tallied just 10 points for a second straight game and has averaged just 9.8 points per game over his past four outings. However, playmaking remains his strength, with Barnes picking up eight assists on Sunday and contributing 10.6 helpers over the past eight games.
After setting team highs in points in the previous four games, RJ Barrett also took a step back against the archnemesis Celtics, scoring just 15 points but has scored 25+ points in three of his past four appearances versus Miami.
