Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami Heat Game 1 Prediction, NBA Playoff Odds

They took down the Charlotte Hornets and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the play-in tournament but suffered a key injury in the process.

Miami, on the other hand, hasn’t hit the court in a few days, with their most recent game being a loss to the Orlando Magic. Still, they were able to win six straight before that loss, including a win over the Hawks themselves. Will Atlanta steal Game 1, or will the Heat defend home court?

Hawks vs. Heat NBA Playoffs Betting Odds

Atlanta is 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall and the same record when allowing their opponents to score over 100 points in the previous outing. However, they really haven’t fared well against good teams this season. They are 7-20 ATS in their past 27 games on the road against a team with a home winning percentage over .600 on the season. To make matters worse, the Hawks have won just one out of their last five games against the Heat in Miami.

The Heat are 4-1 ATS in their past five contests when getting listed as the favorite. They are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall as well. When it comes to the total, they have watched the over cash out in eight out of their last nine games when they have been listed as the favorite.

Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta may have snuck into the postseason, but they are severely hurting across the roster. Not only has John Collins missed the last few weeks of action but now Clint Capela suffered a knee injury of his own, which will have him missing the next week or so. On top of that, Lou Williams is also still sidelined. With those three out of the lineup, there will be tremendous pressure on Trae Young to lead the way. Luckily, he has been doing just that the last few seasons. The point guard averages 28.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 9.7 assists per game. Although, somebody like Danilo Gallinari will really have to step up. Miami is a deep team with a strong rotation, so the Hawks will need some

Miami Heat

While the Hawks are losing bodies, the Heat are getting healthier. Miami is finally getting their star center Bam Adebayo back into the lineup along with the veteran P.J. Tucker. They’re going to try their best to take advantage of the 26th-ranked Hawks defense that’s going to be missing one of their key deterrents in the paint. Atlanta hasn’t done well at defending the three-point line either, which could allow for guys like Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro great opportunities all night long. Sometimes, the higher seed stumbles in the first game of the series just to kind of feel it out a little bit. Miami doesn’t seem like they will be doing that, they are getting healthier and match up really well against Young and the Hawks.
