Golden State -6.5 on the NBA odds. For some reason, the NBA opted for a three-day gap in this series between Tuesday’s Game 2 and Saturday’s Game 3. Dear league office: Teams don’t travel by horse and carriage any longer but by private plane.

Grizzlies vs. Warriors NBA Playoff Betting Odds

With the Grizzlies and Warriors tied 1-1 in the Western semifinals, Golden State is -294 on the series lines (was -526 entering Game 2) and Memphis +238 (was +378). On the series handicap, the Warriors are -123 at -1.5 games and the Grizzlies +106 at +1.5 The favoured exact result is now Golden State in six at +184 – it had been a sweep at +219 entering Game 2. The long shot is Memphis in five at +1890. The over-under for total games is 5.5, with the over a -286 favourite. That the series finishes in six games is the +130 leader.

Memphis was 1-1 at Golden State in the regular season.

Memphis Grizzlies

We picked the Grizzlies to win by two points in Game 2 and they won 106-101. Ja Morant already has become a true superstar and one of the NBA’s most popular players, but he took it up a notch in that victory with 47 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. In the final five minutes, he scored 15 of Memphis’ 17 points, outscoring Golden State 15-12 by himself. Morant became the third player in NBA history to have multiple 45-point games in the playoffs before turning 23, joining LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. If the NBA held a draft right now to have one player for the next 10 years, Morant might be the No. 1 overall pick.

The Grizz were able to win despite Dillon Brooks, the second-leading scorer in the regular season, being ejected less than three minutes into Game 2 for a flagrant foul 2 on the Warriors’ Gary Payton II. Unlike Draymond Green’s flagrant 2 in Game 1 that was questionable and led to his ejection, there was no doubt about what Brooks deserved. The Mississauga native probably is looking at a suspension for Game 3. Brooks hasn’t been near as vital in the playoffs, but it’s still a loss. Memphis is 0-3-1 ATS in its past four as a road underdog.

Golden State Warriors

Gary Payton II is far from Golden State’s best player, but the son of Hall of Famer Gary Payton is a tenacious defender. The series is over for him due to fractured elbow suffered on the flagrant foul mentioned above by the Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks. Payton was on a breakaway for a transition layup and Brooks ended up hitting Payton across the head while trying for the block, sending GP2 tumbling hard to the ground. Payton had been starting and was a primary defender on Grizz star Ja Morant.

Coach Steve Kerr is hopeful that veteran small forward Andre Iguodala (left cervical disk injury) will play Saturday after missing three straight games. Iguodala certainly would get some time on Morant. Both Klay Thompson (5-for-19, 12 points) and Toronto native Andrew Wiggins (6-for-16, 16 points) struggled badly in Game 2. The Warriors are 5-1 ATS in their past six at home.
