Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction, NBA Odds

The West bracket of the NBA’s Play-In Tournament tips off Tuesday night with No. 7 Golden State hosting No. 8 Memphis.

The winner of this game will advance to the playoffs as the 7-seed and face the Houston Rockets in the first round.

The loser will get one more chance as they will face the winner of Sacramento vs. Dallas for the 8-seed and a date with Oklahoma City in the first round of the playoffs.

The Warriors are 6.5-point favourites to win on the NBA odds, with the total set at 227.5.

Grizzlies vs. Warriors NBA Betting Odds

Golden State has won two of three games in the season series, including a 134-125 win in Memphis on April 1. These teams faced off in the second round of the playoffs in 2015 and 2022, with the Warriors going on the win an NBA championship both years.

This game, however, isn’t considered a playoff matchup. Statistically, Play-In Tournament games are a bit in limbo as they’re not considered part of the regular season or the playoffs. At some point I expect the NBA to address this, so player stats are somehow relevant.

It’s not a great omen for the Grizzlies on Tuesday as they have lost nine straight games at Chase Center and dropped five of their last six overall against Golden State. You also can’t count on Memphis as a cover option as they are just 5-14 against the spread in their last 19 games overall and 2-11 ATS in their last 13 against Western Conference opponents.

The Warriors come into Tuesday with 14 wins in their last 20 games overall and 12 wins in their last 16 games against Western Conference teams. While Golden State is just 1-4 ATS in their last five home dates, they covered the spread in their two wins over the Grizzlies this season.

Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis is coming off a 132–97 blowout victory over Dallas on Sunday, but with both teams locked into the Play-In Tournament, there weren’t a lot of starters on the floor. Lamar Stevens led the way with a career-high 31 points, while Marvin Bagley III had 25 points and 12 rebounds. The reserves saw most of the game action, with the Grizzlies’ three leading scorers, Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane, all taking the night off. Morant is averaging just under 30 points per game over the months of March and April.

Golden State Warriors

Steph Curry dropped 36 points against the Clippers on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough as Golden State fell 124-119 in overtime. Jimmy Butler also had a big night, finishing with 30 points and nine assists. It was a tough break for the Warriors, who threw everything they had at L.A. Golden State would have overtaken Minnesota in the standings and avoided the Play-In Tournament altogether had they won. You might want to circle Curry on Tuesday as he put up a ridiculous 52 points against Memphis just two weeks ago.
