The Memphis Grizzlies are a shell of what they were supposed to be this season – Western Conference contenders – as they visit the Raptors on Monday night with Toronto listed as a 6.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds.

Grizzlies vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

Injuries are a part of life in the, but without question the unluckiest team in that regard this season is the Memphis Grizzlies, who should be among the top teams in the Western Conference but instead likely will finish with one of the three-worst records in the West because they have been destroyed by injury and suspension.

Memphis’ ideal starting five this season likely would have been superstar Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, Jaren Jackson Jr. and centre Steven Adams with Brandon Clarke perhaps mixing in as well or at worst the top reserve. Only Jackson is healthy right now with Morant and Adams out for the season, Bane and Smart currently on injured reserve, and Clarke still working his way back from a serious injury last season. We haven’t even mentioned a few other reserve players who are hurt. Look out big time for this club next season as it should be on track for a high draft pick and could trade that for a win-now veteran.

Toronto was a 1-point dog when it visited Memphis on Jan. 3 and won 116-111. Immanuel Quickley scored 26 points and Pascal Siakam added 24. Morant led the Grizzlies with 28 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, while Bane had 22 points.

The Dinos now lead the all-time series 29-26 and are 15-13 as the home team despite dropping the past three. Toronto is 7-3 SU and ATS in the past 10 meetings overall.

Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis lost for the fourth time in five games Saturday, 125-96 in Chicago, to fall to 9-24 this season without injured star guard Ja Morant (team was 6-3 with him). The Grizzlies led 55-53 in the third, but the Bulls went on a 17-0 run and that was that. Scotty Pippen Jr., playing in the arena where his father’s No. 33 hangs from the rafters, had three points in five minutes in his season debut for the Grizzlies. He was recently signed to a two-way contract. At this point, there’s no harm in playing guys like Pippen or fellow young players such as Vince Williams Jr. and GG Jackson to give them a chance to develop. Jackson is the youngest player in the NBA at 19 and had 10 points in 19 minutes Saturday. As if the Grizzlies need more bad injury news, forward Xavier Tillman was out Saturday with left knee soreness. Memphis has used 23 different starting lineups this season, second most in the NBA. The over is 4-1 in the Grizzlies’ past five on the road.

Toronto Raptors

We projected the Raptors to lose by six at the Knicks on Saturday, but it wasn’t near that close in a 126-100 defeat as New York improved to 9-2 since acquiring OG Anunoby in trade from Toronto. He had 14 points and seven rebounds against his ex-club. RJ Barrett had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Immanuel Quickley had 12 points and 11 assists against their former Knicks team. Scottie Barnes had a rough game in shooting 4-for-14 for nine points. Toronto did score a season-high 29 points off 22 Knicks turnovers, outscoring New York by 17 in that category. And the Raptors continue to share the ball well with 29 assists, their franchise-record 26th straight game with at least 25 helpers. It’s the longest active streak in the NBA and tied with the 2018-19 Warriors for the fourth longest in a single-season in league history. The 1984-85 Lakers hold the record of 30 in a row. Toronto is 1-4 ATS in its past five.
