Los Angeles Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction, NBA Odds

The new-look Clippers will unveil their biggest trade deadline acquisition with Darius Garland expected to make his debut for Los Angeles, which plays at Golden State at 10 p.m. ET on Monday.

The Clippers ended a three-game losing streak with a 137-117 pasting of the lowly New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. Kawhi Leonard had 23 points and five assists to lead the team.

The Warriors have played 10 straight without Steph Curry, going 4-6 during that stretch. They dropped a 129-101 decision to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, their fourth loss in six games. Gui Santos led the paltry offensive effort with 14 points.

This is the third of four meetings between the teams, with both teams having already won at home.

Clippers vs. Warriors NBA Betting Odds

The Clippers enter this one as a 1.5-point favourite on the NBA odds while the Warriors nurse their injuries. Los Angeles has yet to reach .500 after a poor start, but the Clippers are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games. They have gone 7-0 ATS in their last seven against Western Conference foes, and they are on a 5-1 ATS run on the road. The Warriors are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games.

Los Angeles has played to the over in four of five, while Golden State has done so in six of its last seven. The number for tonight is set at 216.

Los Angeles Clippers

Garland came over to LAC when James Harden was shipped to Cleveland. The seventh-year guard was an All-Star with the Cavaliers last season, but he has been limited to just 26 games this year.

He is averaging 18 points and 6.9 assists, but a recurring toe injury has kept him out of the lineup for nearly nine weeks.

Bennedict Mathurin, the team’s other headline acquisition, is averaging 20.7 points and 6.2 rebounds in six games since coming over from Indiana in the deal that sent Ivica Zubac to the Pacers.

Golden State Warriors

Golden State is getting positive contributions from several reserves who have stepped up. However, Saturday’s blowout loss to the Lakers highlighted the team’s current deficiencies, especially on the offensive end.

Only four players scored in double figures against the Lakers, with Santos’ meagre 14 representing the team-high. That just won’t get it done in the NBA.

Curry is still out, as is Kristaps Porzingis, who has still only played one game since coming over from the Atlanta Hawks. Add Will Richard to the list of the walking wounded. He has been ruled out with an ankle injury.

Gary Payton II, who has scored in double digits in seven of his past nine games, is questionable with a nagging ankle as well.

NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Clippers vs. Warriors?

Garland last played on January 14, and the Clippers’ win did come against a bad New Orleans team, but Los Angeles has Leonard and Mathurin ready to have big games this evening as well.

The last time these teams played, in early January, Curry (27) and Jimmy Butler (24) combined for half the Warriors’ points in a 103-102 loss. Since Butler went down for the season, Golden State is 6-10. Coach Steve Kerr’s side is missing talent, leadership, scoring ability, and so much more.

These teams are passing each other on the stairs while going in opposite directions. You want to follow the Clippers right now, at least until Curry returns. Take Los Angeles to win 116-104.
