Clippers vs. Nuggets Game 6 Prediction: NBA Playoff Odds, Point Spread

They were able to come back from down 3-1 back in the first round of the playoffs against the Utah Jazz and they’re making a push to do it again. However, this series is still far from over and the Clippers still remain in the driver’s seat going into Game 6.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The under is 4-0-2 in the Nuggets last six games overall and 3-0-2 in their last five games when coming in as the underdog. Denver is 6-2-1 ATS in their past nine games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight when coming in as an underdog.

On the other side of this matchup, the Clippers are 21-6 ATS in their past 27 games following an ATS loss. They are also 18-8 ATS after scoring 100 or more points in the game prior. The under is 4-0-2 in the Clippers past six games overall and 4-0-2 when coming in as the favorite in the matchup.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers lost Game 5 despite an all-around great performance by Kawhi Leonard. They need other guys to step up and be efficient if they are to advance, though. Leonard scored 36 points and Paul George added 26 but there were only two other Clippers who hit double digits in scoring at 10 and 12 points. That has to change if they want a chance to end the series in Game 6.

Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell will have to start scoring more effectively to take defensive pressure off of George and Leonard. Harrell was the Sixth Man of the Year and Williams is a former Sixth Man but both didn’t play like it in Game 5. They combined for just 10 points.

Denver Nuggets

Denver was able to yet again keep themselves alive with a comeback victory in Game 5. The Nuggets got the lead for the first time in the fourth quarter and were able to hold onto until the end. They trailed by as many as 16 points, so the fact that they even got off the mat is impressive. They got great contributions from their entire roster as guys like Paul Millsap, Jerami Grant and Monte Morris all ended the game with double figures in scoring. They were ultimately led by Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic as both of them scored 20+ points with Jokic picking up 14 rebounds along the way.

They were able to come together as a team and overcome the comments made by young forward Michael Porter Jr. after Game 5 as well. Although Porter didn’t have a stat line that jumps out at you, he hit arguably the biggest shot of the game with around one-minute left in the contest. He then blocked a dunk attempt that ended up practically sealing the game for the Nuggets. They will need solid contributions from everybody in order to try and come back from down 3-1 again. They once trailed by 16 in this contest so while they finished well, they didn’t start that way.
