The Eastern Conference-leading Celtics kicked off their trip with a 12-point loss at Denver on Sunday, snapping a four-game win streak. The 15-21 Thunder have dropped two straight and are 2.5 games out of the West’s final play-in spot.

Tuesday’s contest also features two of the NBA’s top five point-getters, with Boston’s Jayson Tatum 4th in the league with 30.9 points per outing and Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander right behind scoring 30.8 points per game.

Tip-off at Paycom Center goes at 8 p.m. EST, with Boston a big favourite on the NBA odds.

Celtics vs. Thunder NBA Betting Odds

Boston’s been one of the NBA’s best clubs over the past few seasons, so the Celtics winning nine of their last 11 versus the Thunder comes as no surprise. Boston’s also undefeated in their last five trips to Oklahoma City, but the Thunder are above .500 at home this season at 10-9. Boston took these teams’ first meeting on November 14 by a score of 126-122.

Against the spread Oklahoma City has had success against Boston though, covering in six of their last seven clashes. The Thunder are 11-8 ATS on home court this season. The under is 5-0 in the Thunder’s last five games against an Eastern opponent, while Boston has won 11 of their last 14 games against Western teams.

Boston Celtics

In Boston’s 37 games this season, either Tatum or Jaylen Brown have led the team in scoring. The duo is averaging 58 points per contest, making for one of the league’s best one-two punches on the league’s highest-scoring team. The Celtics are also one of two NBA teams scoring over 15 threes a game, and lead the NBA with an 82.7 free throw percentage.

Boston unfortunately only connected on nine threes on 33 attempts in Saturday’s loss, but Tatum and Brown did combine for 55 points. The problem, which can be one from time to time, was no either Celtics player finished in double digits in points and a 12-point loss was the result.

Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder are 25th in the NBA by allowing 116.8 points per game, and they’ll have their hands full Tuesday with the NBA’s top offence. Oklahoma City’s likely going to make this bout a shootout too — they rank second in the NBA with 92.8 shots per game and it’s got them to being a top-10 offence in scoring too.

Gilgeous-Alexander is far and away the Thunder’s top scorer, but Josh Giddey and Luguentz Dort have shown to be solid secondary options. Giddey led the team with 20 points in their loss Saturday, while Dort leads Oklahoma City with 1.7 threes per game. All three will need to be on their game if the Thunder are to pull off the upset.
