The Cavaliers dropped a 108-93 decision in the first date of their home-and-home series, snapping a 12-game winning streak that has solidified their grasp on first place overall in the NBA standings. The Pacers’ victory in Cleveland on Sunday extend their current win streak to six games and have claimed victory by an average margin of 15.3 points while winning three straight at home over that stretch.

The Cavaliers have climbed to lofty 8.5-point road favourites on the Tuesday NBA odds. Indiana lags as a +260 underdog on the NBA moneyline and the total is set at 232.5.

Cavaliers vs. Pacers NBA Betting Odds

It has certainly been a breakthrough campaign for the Cavaliers, who have vaulted to the top of the NBA standings with sparkling 33-5 record. The Cavs also arrive in Indiana riding a five-game win streak on the road, but it is interesting to note that the only time this team has suffered back-to-back losses was during their last hole-and-home series, against the Atlanta Hawks in late November.

Winners by double-digit margins in 19 of their past 20 overall victories, the Cavaliers rank second in the NBA with 122.1 points per game and are also tops in the Association with a 26-12 record against the spread, but have covered just once in their past four games.

The Pacers have overcome a middling season start with some dominant performances during a 13-4 run that has lifted them into fifth place in the eastern Conference standings.

The pacers have also limited opponents to just 105.7 points per game during a three-game home win streak but have produced mixed results in recent dates with Cleveland, going 4-4 in their past eight and are just 2-4 SU and ATS in the Cavaliers’ past six visits to Indy.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers endured one of their slowest starts of the season on Sunday, tallying just 19 points in the opening frame before rebounding to seize a 13-point halftime lead. However, the Cavs continued to struggle after recess, scoring just 40 points in the second half of their lowest scoring outing so far this season. That bodes poorly as Cleveland embarks on three-game road trip against surging opponents.

Darius Garland emerged as the only Cavaliers shooter to reach 20 points in Sunday’s loss. However, those numbers mark a step back from his 40-point performance in last Thursday’s 132-126 and extends an uneven trend that has seen the talented point guard fail to drop more than 20 points in consecutive games since December 30.

Donovan Mitchell has also cooled off since closing out 2024 on a six-game tear during which he averaged 25 points per game. Mitchell has mustered just 16 points per game in four January outings and converted just 38.3 per cent from the floor over that stretch.

Indiana Pacers

The Pacers received contributions from up and down the lineup in Sunday’s win, with Andrew Nembhard busting out of a recent slump with a team-high 19 points. However, the opportunity for Nembhard came at a high cost, with Tyrese Haliburton suffering a hamstring injury that cut his night short and has left him doubtful for Tuesday’s matchup.

Former Toronto Raptor Pascal Siakam has remained a model of consistency for the Pacers. “Spicy P” has scored at least 18 points in 13 of 15 appearances and now leads the squad with 19.9 points per game. Siakam has played a key defensive role for a stingy Pacers squad that has limited opponents to fewer than 100 points in two of four outings, racking up nine rebounds in each of the past two games and 8.3 boards per game in six January contests.
