Bulls vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

On Tuesday, No. 7 seed Miami hosts No. 8 Atlanta in the first Eastern Conference play-in game. The winner of that becomes the official No. 7 seed in the postseason field and will visit No. 2 Boston in Round 1. The winner of this Bulls-Raptors matchup Wednesday will travel to the Heat-Hawks loser for Friday’s winner-take-all game for the East’s No. 8 seed and the right to play No. 1 Milwaukee.

Toronto won the season-series against Chicago this year 2-1, winning both at Scotiabank Arena. The Bulls averaged just 104.3 ppg in the three. Zach LaVine (two games) is averaging 23.5 ppg in the series for Chicago, Nikola Vucevic 18.7 ppg and 10.0 rpg, and former Raptors DeMar DeRozan just 14.0 ppg.  Fred VanVleet averaged 20.0 ppg and 8.0 apg in the three, while Pascal Siakam had 20 points and eight rebounds in the lone game he played.

This is the first-ever postseason meeting between the teams, although the NBA doesn’t technically call the play-in tournament the playoffs. The Bulls are 7-3 against the spread in the past 10 meetings. The under has hit in four straight.

Chicago Bulls

If they lose this game, the Bulls might look quite a bit different next season as very good centre Nikola Vucevic is a free agent and All-Star DeMar DeRozan has just one year left on his deal, so if management believes the Bulls can’t compete for a title with the current group, and it can’t, DeRozan could be traded this summer and Vucevic, too, in a sign-and trade deal. Lonzo Ball didn’t play at all this season and likely won’t next, either, due to a chronic knee issue. Vucevic has had a double-double in seven of his last 10 games vs. the Raptors. The Bulls did win their final two games of the regular season but against teams that weren’t trying to win in Dallas and Detroit. Chicago is 9-5 this season when DeRozan, Vucevic and Zach LaVine each score 20 or more points in the same game. The Bulls are 6-2-1 ATS in their past nine on the road.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto snapped a two-game skid and closed the regular season with a 121-105 win Sunday over Milwaukee, which rested every starter. Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam (rest) all sat for the Raptors, who finished 41-41 for the second time in team history (2007-08). Jakob Poeltl only played 11 minutes. Toronto finished as the lone team in the NBA with five players averaging at least 15 points (Siakam – 24.2, VanVleet – 19.3, Trent Jr. – 17.4, Anunoby – 16.8, Barnes – 15.3) and just the second team over the past 48 years, joining the 2019-20 Raptors. Toronto set a single-season franchise record of 772 total steals and averaged a league-best 9.4 steals per game. Anunoby led at 1.9 per game. The Raptors are 15-5-1 ATS in their past 21 at home.
