Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds
The Toronto Raptors look to complete the sweep of a two-game home series with the Philadelphia 76ers when these Eastern Conference rivals hit the hardwood at Scotiabank Arena in Monday night NBA betting action.
The Raptors tallied a narrow 116-115 victory over the Sixers on Sunday to improve to 5-1 in their past six home dates while strengthening their grasp on fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Sunday’s defeat snapped the 76ers’ four-game win streak on the road and leaves them trailing Toronto by 1.5 games in the conference standings.
The Raptors trail as 3.5-point home underdogs on Monday’s NBA odds. The 76ers lead the way as -150 favourites on the NBA moneyline, and the total is pegged at 221.5.
76ers vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
With Sunday’s win, the Raptors have now topped the Sixers in three straight home meetings and six of their past seven overall including two of three dates this season. These teams tend to score lots of points when they meet, with the total topping 230 in each of their past four clashes and six of nine overall. Accordingly, the OVER has paid out regularly in totals betting, going 7-2 over that stretch and 7-1 in the Sixers’ past eight trips to Toronto.
The Raptors have enjoyed a scoring touch during their 3-0 run at Scotiabank Arena, averaging 122.7 points per game over that stretch, and have allowed 120+ points just once in their past seven outings. That has produced uneven results in totals betting with the OVER going just 5-4 in their past nine.
However, the Raptors have remained a reliable bet, going 7-3 ATS in their past 10 including outright victories in four of their past five as betting underdogs. The Sixers have also covered five times during their 5-2 SU run, but have gone just 3-2 SU in their past five as road chalk, and have averaged just 109 points per game in the first two games of their current road trip.
Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers were missing Paul George and Joel Embiid in the first game of this two-game set, with George nursing knee and groin injuries and Embiid hobbled by knee soreness. In total, Embiid has missed six games so far this season, but has remained productive while available, averaging 28.3 points per game in 10 outings since early December and tallied 29 points and six rebounds when the Raptors visited Philly on November 8.
George emerged as a late scratch just minutes before game-time, and his status for Monday remains uncertain. The 35-year-old big man has averaged just 15.8 points in five January contests and has shot more than 40 per cent from the field just three times in his past 10 appearances. With their two veteran stars on the shelf, Tyrese Maxey carried the load for the Sixers on Sunday, scoring a game-high 38 points and has now averaged 34.2 points over his past five road outings.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors were dealing with injury woes of their own on Sunday, with RJ Barrett joining leading scorer Brandon Ingram in the clinic with ankle and thumb injuries, respectively. In addition, promising second-year guard Ja’Kobe Walter was forced to leave Sunday’s game with a hip injury, leaving his status uncertain. Walter stepped up in Ingram’s absence in Friday’s 125-117 loss in Boston, tallying 19 points and six boards while playing 31 minutes.
Scottie Barnes led the depleted Raptors attack on Sunday with his highest scoring performance since November, racking up 31 points, seven boards, and eight assists, and sports -115 odds on the NBA player props to record OVER 32.5 points + rebounds + assists on Monday.
