Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds

Sunday marks the first of two games in 24 hours at Scotiabank Arena between the Philadelphia 76ers and Raptors, with Toronto as a 4-point underdog on the NBA odds with a total of 221.5 points.

76ers vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

It’s quite possible that this back-to-back set between the Sixers and Raptors from Toronto is a playoff preview as the Dinos sit fourth in the Eastern Conference currently and Philadelphia fifth. The No. 4 would face the No. 5 in the first round, but obviously a long way to go. Both these clubs figure to add ahead of the trade deadline.

The Sixers are legit threat to win a watered-down East this spring if they can keep Joel Embiid and Paul George healthy. Embiid is really starting to look like his former MVP self, but you know a major issue is possible at any moment. Last year’s overall team implosion had one good benefit: Earning the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and the chance to select Baylor guard VJ Edgecombe, who has been terrific and should be first-team All-Rookie.

These clubs split two meetings in Philadelphia in November, each winning by at least nine points. RJ Barrett averaged 22.0 points in the two, Brandon Ingram 21.5 and Scottie Barnes 20.0. Embiid had 29 points and six rebounds in his lone game (the one the Sixers won), and Tyrese Maxey, who is now the team’s best player, averaged 27.5 points and 8.0 assists in the two.

The past 10 meetings overall have been split SU and ATS, while the over-under is 7-3.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Sixers won for the fifth time in six games Friday, 103-91 in Orlando. The team is coming together and getting healthy – look out. Not often a club wins making just four three-pointers, but Philly made that many in 28 attempts. But the Magic were slightly worse at 4-for-29. Tyrese Maxey led the 76ers with 28 points, and Joel Embiid had 22 points and nine rebounds.

He looks as healthy as he has since his MVP season but still may sit out today as Embiid doesn’t play both ends of a back-to-back and the clubs play again Monday. Rookie VJ Edgecombe leads the league with 44 loose balls recovered. The Sixers have won four in a row away. Their +9.4 net rating in the fourth quarter anywhere is the fourth best in the NBA. Philadelphia’s six wins while trailing to start the fourth quarter leads the Eastern Conference and ranks tied for second in the league. Philly has has won six games when trailing by 10-plus points, tied for the sixth most such wins in the NBA. The Sixers are 9-2 ATS in their past six away.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto’s three-game winning streak was snapped Friday in a 125-117 loss in Boston. The Celtics connected on 14 three-pointers and shot 54 per cent from the field to help pull away in the second half. RJ Barrett and Ja’Kobe Walter both had 19 points for Toronto, which played without the injured Brandon

Ingram (sprained right thumb), Scottie Barnes (sprained right knee) and Jakob Poeltl (back). Coach Darko Rajakovic used his 12th different starting lineup of the season as his team fell to 0-10 when allowing opponents to make at least 50 per cent of their shots. Poeltl will miss a 10th in a row tonight, while Barrett is out with an ankle issue picked up Friday that forced him to leave. Ingram and Barnes are questionable. Toronto has lost six straight vs. Atlantic Division foes.
