Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks Prediction, NBA Odds
The 47-27 Knicks have a clinched a post-season berth, and barring a late-season losing streak will finish the year in third place in the East.
No club has a longer losing streak in the East than Philadelphia. A 127-109 defeat to Toronto on Sunday has the 76ers losers of eight straight, 23-52 on the season, and quickly falling down the conference’s standings. And that’s why point spreads were made.
The Knicks are listed as -14.5 on the spread (Philadelphia +675 on the moneyline) and the over-under at 223.5 on the NBA odds. Tip-off at Madison Square Garden is at 7:30 p.m. EDT.

Philadelphia’s losing streak ATS has also extended to seven games. The 76ers are an abysmal 26-49 ATS this season and have dropped four of their last five games by double digits. New York’s 7-2 outright in their last nine games and are also 4-1 ATS in their last five. Tuesday’s an opportunity for a season sweep for the Knicks over the 76ers; New York holds a 3-0 advantage this season with two close wins in the calendar year, and a 12-point win back on November 12.
The over’s hit in 12 of the 76ers’ last 15 outings. It’s a testament to all the NBA-caliber players in Philadelphia’s lineups who are sitting out with injuries as opponents continue to carve up an abundance of 76ers’ players getting much higher minutes than they’re used to. The Knicks are 4-1 to the over in their last five outings and reached 110 points in four of their last five.

A couple 76ers may return to the lineup Tuesday. Quentin Grimes (rest) is good to go, and so might be Kyle Lowry. The veteran guard has been out since February 9 with a hip injury and is listed as questionable on Tuesday. The 39-year-old is 13 years older than Philadelphia’s oldest starter on Sunday, 26-year-old Lonnie Walker IV who scored a team-high 23 in the loss. Guard Jared Butler caught fire on Sunday, finishing with 15 points and going three for four from the three-point line. Butler’s scored at least 14 points in four straight games, shooting at least 50 per cent from the field each time.
Jalen Hood-Schifino dropped 18 points off the bench on Sunday. The 2023 first-round pick is starting to show some scoring potential, almost matching his career-high 19 points set back earlier in March.
New York Knicks
OG Anunoby continues to elevate his offensive game for the Knicks, recording a game-high 28 points in Sunday’s victory over Portland. Anunoby has led New York in scoring in four of their last six outings as Jalen Brunson remains out with an ankle injury. Brunson won’t play Tuesday, but did say over the weekend he expects to return to the Knicks before the playoffs.
Forward Mikal Bridges is also seeing an uptick in scoring, dropping 28 points on Sunday and finishing with 19.5 points and above five assists per game in March. Bridges also has over 20 points in four of his last five outings, but it’s mostly due to an increased volume in field goal attempts as he’s starting to reach 20+ shot attempts a night.
