UFC Odds: Conor McGregor an underdog vs. Khabib in rumoured rematch

If the rumored rematch between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov actually happens, The Notorious one will likely be in a familiar position as he makes his walk to the octagon – an underdog.

With tensions escalating over social media between the two UFC superstars over the past few months, it appears as though there’s at least a chance that McGregor will get another crack at Nurmagomedov. And a chance is all oddsmakers need to post early numbers for the rumoured fight. Nurmagomedov opened as a -340 favourite with McGregor pegged as the +245 underdog on the MMA odds board Friday afternoon.

The Irishman was submitted by Khabib in the fourth round of UFC 229’s main event when Nurmagomedov was set as a slim -150 favourite. McGregor checked in at +125 for that bout that went down on Oct. 6 in Las Vegas.

Of course, there’s a lot of history between these two fighters. McGregor was arrested last year after he attacked a bus that Khabib Nurmagomedov was on at the Barclays Center at UFC 223 and the UFC 229 main event turned into a brawl among both fighter’ teams.

Since then the pair have been sparring over social media, which escalated to the point that UFC President Dana White said he intended to intervene earlier this week. McGregor seeming put an end to his recent “retirement” which lasted just a matter of days, saying in a tweet “Now see you in the octagon” on Wednesday.
