UFC Fight Night 260 Preview, Predictions: Neil Magny aiming for another quick win
After a one-week hiatus, the UFC is back this weekend with another exciting event. This is UFC Fight Night 260, which is scheduled for Sept. 27. The event will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, and it will be available to stream on ESPN+.
The highlight of this fight card will be the main event, which is set to feature a UFC light heavyweight fight between Carlos Ulbeg and Dominick Reyes.
Aside from the main event, this article will break down my three best bets for UFC Fight Night 260.
Jack Jenkins vs. Ramon Taveras best bet: Fight to go the Distance – No (+100)
My first best bet for UFC Fight Night 260 will target the main card fight between Jack Jenkins and Ramon Taveras to end inside the distance.
Jenkins enters this fight with an MMA record of 13-4 and is 4-2 in the UFC. He employs a balanced fighting style as he is averaging 4.50 significant strikes per minute, while also averaging 1.78 takedowns every 15 minutes.
As for Taveras, he enters this fight with an MMA record of 10-3 and is 2-2 in the UFC. Unlike Jenkins, Taveras is more one-dimensional, averaging 4.62 significant strikes per minute, while having shown no grappling ability in the UFC.
Jenkins has seen four of his six UFC fights end inside the distance, while Taveras has seen two of his four UFC fights do the same. Based on this, there looks to be value on this fight not going to the judges at even-money.
Jake Matthews vs. Neil Magny best bet: Fight to go the Distance – No (-115)
My second UFC Fight Night 260 best bet focuses on another fight ending inside the distance, as Jake Matthews goes toe-to-toe with Neil Magny.
Matthews enters this fight with an MMA record of 22-7 and is 15-7 in the UFC. He has always been a balanced fighter, averaging 3.44 significant strikes per minute, while averaging 1.51 takedowns every 15 minutes.
On the other side is Magny, who has an MMA record of 30-13 and is 23-12 in the UFC. Magny is also a well-balanced fighter, averaging 3.45 significant strikes per minute and 2.51 takedowns every 15 minutes.
Magny has seen seven of his last nine UFC fights end inside the distance, while Matthews has seen four of his last eight fights in the octagon do the same. All signs point to an early finish in this one.
Justin Tafa vs. Louie Sutherland best bet: Louie Sutherland to win (-105)
My third and final UFC best bet for Australia is for Louie Sutherland to get the better of Justin Tafa.
Sutherland is making his UFC debut but has already posted an impressive 10-3 record with eight of those victories being by finish.
As for Tafa, he has had an inconsistent fighting career, going 7-5 with a struggling 4-5 record in the UFC. With two straight defeats, Tafa looks vulnerable for an unfortunate hat-trick of losses against Sutherland.
